May I suggest doing what DIY Danie did? She covered a small door access with a bookcase that is attached to the door so you pull a book and it swings/rolls open? Also I think shades not curtains is the way to go!
  • @halashamsan4761
great start , loving the direction ! <3❤❤ maybe for the wall you can use vintage vibe wallpaper for the bottom half covering the door too & changing the knob to smaller one to break up the rectangular shapes , and toping it with beautiful molding . and electrical box can be covered by nice art . roman shades for sure is the way to go! can't wait to see what you come up with 😊😉

Our house is 110 and we also have plaster walls. I’ve had good luck with the metal looking drywall anchors. I find them at Lowes. Also maybe try rotating your rug so it goes wide rather than long to help create a grouping with the bed. Love your new house and you’re doing an amazing job.
  • Chair rail at the height of the door with bead board! I would leave the top half plain and find a piece of art that you can center between the two windows to cover the breaker box. Roman shades for the two small windows & add a tall plant to the dead space to the right of the two small windows for balance. I would orient the rug the opposite direction & add a decorative mirror above the dresser. It’s looking great so far! 😊

Yes the labeling of top or bottom of sheets changed my life. Looks so good!

The layering of textures & patterns in the bedding is so yummy! And those drapes are stunning!

Have you thought about board and batten on the bottom portion? It would solve the door molding height. It would add a subtle touch when you add your curtains. As for the electrical box, a picture or mirror. I hope this helps! Happy decorating☺

I would do wallpaper!! Just paper over the door, box etc. Place a table or bookcase in front of door( you could add hidden wheels). Definitely use the same curtains on that side to be cohesive😊❤

I love your room and the bed in front the shuttered windows. The curtains did add a sense of completion to the window wall. As for all the molding on the side wall with the windows and that half door...... I personally think simple board and batten will be much less busy. You can always add a patterned wall paper above it. or a contrasting color. What a beautiful space to decorate.
  • What a blessing you are! I found you recently and I'm backtracking to older content. Your enthusiasm is contagious 😅

I am loving all the changes to your beautiful home. ❤ Good choice in sheets, love organic and claiming colors for my bed also.

I have a few ideas: 1) If you don’t need access to the little door, move your bed headboard to that wall. That wall needs something large and substantial on it. The room right now feels really long because everything is on the side with the windows on it. It’s also weird to me to have your headboard against the window. 2) Get a tall headboard to draw your eye up. 3) I would upgrade to a king size bed. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself and my marriage. Do it and you’ll never go back. 4) You could make a reading nook / space for you and your husband by the window. I can see you putting a cute chaise lounges 5) If you are hesitant about loosing the storage space behind that door you have lots of other opportunities to add storage (you have room to optimize / larger your closet, you could put a window bench in, etc) I hope some of this was helpful! Your idea about molding is wonderful, but I feel like it won’t solve the room layout weird feeling you are describing. Love all the great things you do❤

I have NO clue how i missed one of your videos 🤦‍♀️ It turned out so pretty! Light and airy but cozy and comfy! The curtains make such A big difference too. I think some suttle printed wall paper on half the wall would be gorgeous in this space! A small table or bookcase/shelf unit in front of the access door. Roman shades on the small windows would look nice. I know you will make the room beautiful! Enjoyed the video, although I'm late🫣

Courtney!! The bedding and curtains are so beautiful! I love the idea of bringing calm into the bedroom! That wall wow…I’m sitting here watching you saying ..you should do this or that and then you say the thing I’m thinking! If that makes sense! 🤔 I would do the Roman shades on the two windows and also the molding that you’ve got going on, with the tape. 😊And maybe even just on that wall. Can’t wait to see how it turns out! ❤
  • Put a piece of furniture in front of door with 2 side chairs with Roman shades on windows picture in middle
  • @lia12345Abc
Definitely fabric Roman shades on those two small windows and I like the blue tape as the area to put the wood trim

Love love love! Super excited Quince has bedding! I bought a Mongolian cashmere sweater from them 2 years ago - super soft, amazing quality and not one pill! Very impressed with that sweater. As far as room challenges - I wonder if you could create a hinged panel to cover the door and incorporate into all over wall design. Whatever you do will be awesome!! Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Beautiful transformation as always.

There is hardware that you can use that will make the door disappear. Pressure latches and hidden hinges are fairly inexpensive. What would you do if the door and electric box weren't there at all? Reverse engineer the project to what you want. For now you can add a simple roman shade you can sew. If your pillow shams are wide enough you use them. Your doing an excellent job! Your home is coming along beautifully!❤

Great drapes and bedding! I was going to suggest placing the bed in front of the small door until you said that you actually use that storage . My thought is to put roman shades on the small windows with matching fabric as the drapes for a cohesive look. As for camouflaging the door, maybe build a bookcase that is attached to the door, and you can open it to access the closet. You can build it higher and wider if necessary. One of the shelves can protrude out and act as a "coffee" table for the 2 seating chairs on either side. Just a suggestion. You are a delight. Blessings 😊
