Unbelievable that a tick tock YouTuber is showing what a government department SHOULD be doing! Keep up the good work, and stay safe when your on the roof.
  • @Jim-yk9zw
Stoked to hear that these grubs certifying garbage homes are starting to get punished. Good work mate.
  • @DanTuber
6 years isn't enough. Should be lifetime ban.
  • @martls6
As a builder myself, I love this guy. I can't remember how many jobs I've lost to underquoting from builders that do a half ass job. Not only on quality of building but safety as well. A couple of 45x90's as scaffolding. I get angry thinking about it again.
  • @Polyphemus.
I was warned about this certifier seven years ago when I first started working in architecture in Sutherland Shire. He had many nicknames but he was referred to as 'Drive-By-Paul' by my old boss. A client of mine, who is also a builder, calls him 'Tick 'n Flick'. Good to hear he's finally been punished properly.
  • For those who clicked on the NSW Fair Trading link that @Site Inspections provided, you will note that Paul Gearin the Certifier who got suspended, had been reprimanded multiple times over the years.
  • @tkx86
I am currently paying off an apartment in Sydneys West and plan on eventually buying a house down in Tasmania to settle down and this guy is the guy I would fly down to check a home. This guy is an absolute weapon of an inspector.
  • @seeks1986
You're an absolute legend mate . Australian of the year material! Im so sick of bodgy workers especially when most people spend their entire lives paying their house off
  • @DGFX64
Mate, ever thought of becoming the Building Commissioner? Well you should. Hopefully you have a team involved with you. You are a deadset hero. We need blokes like you big time. Thanks for helping the small guys…👍
  • @cze33e
The two dislikes must be the builder and certifier 🤣
  • @horatio8764
I love this channel. I'm a commercial house painter and I see this and more all the time , I've been removed/ fired from a few sites by the builders because I refused to cover up their crap work. Absolute cowboys , I tell people all the time and they call me a liar
  • @delusr
What a schmozzle I feel for a lot of the owners of the houses I work on, So many builders who dont give AF. Well done
  • 5:19 We can hear the compassion so clearly in your voice. Clearly you give a crap about the consumer and I'm glad people like you are out there protecting us!
  • the VBA is absolutely useless, i had a shopping list of serious non-compliances i had to grind my way for years on my own all the way up until a week before a VCAT hearing until the builder agreed to pay the $100k bill we gave them for others to complete the works. You can highlight as much dangerous non-compliant items to the VBA and theyll find any reason to ignore it. We even got recommended by professional bodies to not even bother wasting your time with the VBA
  • @keithmarlow143
I nearly fell off my chair when you said NSW fair trading was going after the builder, excellent!
  • @jangbanger7
What you said about the VBA is spot on. Honestly the whole thing needs to be rehauled completely
  • I couldn’t believe the state of that house. It was disgraceful, props to you for helping your fellow citizen I hope they get their house fixed or rebuilt to a safe standard to live in.
  • @christopher54179
It just proves self certification doesn’t work unless there is follow up random spot visits by DFT. Certifiers are in the builders pockets.
  • @saberint
I have spent over 20 years in commissioning and sadly none of this surprises me. My favourite saying was always: if you did your job, I wouldn’t have a job
