In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • As an announcer at a radio station for 37 years, I've made a living of choosing my words carefully. Speaking from firsthand experience, it's paid off. What we speak IS what we create.

Gandhi said it a long time ago man "Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny" Nothing is new under the sun, life is a cycle.

Great presentation! This idea is as old as humanity. God SAID: "Let there be light." And it is a pity that we have forgotten that we all have this superpower.
  • Great speech. Echoing several thousand year old knowledge. (In the beginning of the Book of Genesis, we read that God spoke the world into existence.) And since the Bible says we are created in God's image, we can create by speaking as well. Love the abracadabra! Going to pass this speech on to the people I know. Thank you!

The camera guy is also a magician. He makes the speaker disappear.

Great Job Andrew!  You are so composed, confident and your content is rock solid and rich; moreover, managing your "Patter" works!  I am so proud to call you my friend since 1993!  Keep making a difference in people's lives old friend.  I'm still trying to find a Bowling Ball in my Flip Charts!  Ross Perot would be proud of you...I certainly am!

The word grimoire, a book of magic, comes from the root of the word grammar. The Scottish word glamour originally meant a magic spell to make people see something more enticing than what is. It also comes from the same root as grammar. "Spell" in spellcasting means to spell. The roots of actual magic (psychology, propaganda, the placebo/nocebo effect) is rooted in words.

I learned about the power of words by studying the Bible. If you don't believe me read the Bible and you will be amazed at how you will learn to change your words. WORDS are powerful so be very careful how you use them and that applies to me too. I also have to remember that constantly.
