Little bit of a fact for you guys. Ultraman: Towards the Future was actually a joint Japanese-Australian production. Despite being filmed in Australia, it was never released there. It only aired in America and Japan. And in Japan, it was known as Ultraman Great.

Finally, found a video Ultraman reaction with a good reaction 😁👍

Comparing Ultraman to Superman is actually correct, he is basically Japans answer to Kryptons last son. And Ultramans influence is kinda gigantic, even on media outside of his home country. The cartoon series "Ben10" for example was partially inspired by Ultraman, with the watch which transforms the main character Ben into his different alien forms blinking red right before he is forced to change back into a human just like Ultraman. And the homage went even further when Ben recieved one of his strongest Alien Forms in his TV movie in the form of "Waybig", who was just straight up a direct Ultraman stand-in who used the same attacks as Ultraman. The other famous series which wouldn't exist without Ultraman is Pokemon. A lot of the gen 1 designs and even the catching concept were directly taken from Ultraman, which even includes the designs of stuff like the traditional Pokeball. They even had a line of Pokemon directly based on Ultraman in the form of Staryu and Starmy, who, however, got banned from appearing in the show early on for a long time because the Pokemon anime actually used the sounds of Ultraman for these Pokemon - without Studio Tsubarayas consent. Another famous example is the main character of "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX" named Judai. Judais deck was entirely super hero inspired, and both of his biggest ace cards in the manga and the anime version of YGO GX called "Elemental Hero Neos" and "Elemental Hero Terra-Firma" respectively were based on Ultraman.

Fun fact: 6:34 The Return of Ultraman was actually supposed to bring back the 1966 Ultra. They decided to go with another Ultra(Ultranman Jack) instead to move forward. This also linked Ultraman and Ultraseven. You mentioned an Ultraman movie? Wait, soon we'll be able to see Shin Ultraman, released 2022.

1:21 For a little bit of behinds the scenes, the company behind the production of the Ultra series is Tsuburaya Production, founded by the legend himself, Eiji Tsuburaya, the man who brought the original Godzilla to life with his effects direction. With Tsuburaya being still on good terms with Toho after his departure to found his own company, hence some early Kaiju for the Ultra series are retooled Godzilla suits, ie Jiras, a mesh of Goji suits and Niranga being made from Baragon. 35:37 So quick tldr on how Ultras can take a human form, first is the normal symbiotic relationship with a host, which explains Nexus’s different human appearance here. And second is the ability to take on the appearance of a human, essentially being their doppelgänger. Then as an offshoot of the second, a human can be an incarnation of the Ultra, ie Tiga and Trigger, and Rosso and Blu(R/B). 38:46 There are actually 45:17 I’m sorta drawing a blank on why there are 2 different ops for Ginga, with my best guess from memory being a rerun. 47:46 Out of the big 3 of the Tokusatu genre(KR, SS, Ultraman), the latter is more connected. As each series’s events take place on different Earths, barring some exceptions, Ultraman-80+Mebius, Tiga and Dyna, and Trigger and Decker. Although this is the case, Ultras have the tech to travel between the multiverse or there are phenomena and other beings that can also do so. 48:44 Ginga-X marks the Spark doll trilogy, where their gimmicks are tied to Spark dolls which in universe are the sealed states of kaiju, Seijin(aliens) and Ultras, though the origins of these between Ginga’s and X’s universes are sorta differs. 50:51 Orb was pretty much the one at the forefront for the “borrowing the powers of other Ultras” gimmick, where the legacy aspect take the forefront of the gimmicks’ identity, which has sorta toned down going forward. 1:16:43 Regulos is a “pseudo-prelude” to Leo by technicality, as this is more of a future addition to the greater multiverse. With the planet this series takes place on being close to Leo’s home planet prior to his series, as the two planets where essentially brothers in arms so to speak.

35:07 In Japanese, "Blue Fruits" does not mean the literal blue fruit, but rather green immature fruit. By extension, it means "young people who are not yet tranquil, but who have infinite potential."😁

Ultraman is one of the childhood of most of us here. You might see Ultraman as childish or for kids, but surprisingly Ultraman story is so deep once you truly look into it. When I was a kid, I only see cool giant fight against monsters but once I grown up and could understand the story, it was much deeper than I thought. My favourite Ultraman is Ultraman Cosmos and all the movies of Ultraman Cosmos are the best movies I have ever seen and more better than most of MCU and DC movies.
  • @_The_Traveler_
Y'all just stay rolling out the hits, this is literally one of my favorite channels on this entire website.
  • @LordVanOskuro
Ginga's second song was actually meant to just be the insert song of the fight scenes, but the gospel feel of it made it so popular that they made it an opening theme.
  • @nitrokid
Ultraseven's theme was legendary. There's a video of it with full orchestra and choir in a ceremony 🔥🔥🔥
  • @Zenzen287
Finally...I'm really waiting for this reaction brooo😍✨🔥🔥
  • @ultave
Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad was based on the 1993 series Denkou Choujin Gridman (aka Gridman the Hyper Agent), which was created by Tsuburaya Productions for their 30th anniversary. While I know many people have nostalgia for the American adaptation, it REALLY pales in compassion to the classic that is Gridman; a story reflective of a changing world and the creativity within it. Ever since 2018, the popular anime studio TRIGGER has been working on series that act as a sequel to the OG, those being SSSS.GRIDMAN (2018), SSSS.DYNAZENON (2021), and Gridman Universe (2023). If you ever get free time, I recommend checking out that franchise as well.
  • @MrCooper92
If you like Kane Kosugi, I highly recommend watching Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. He plays the Black Ranger in the show and his dad does show up in the show. They have one of the best fights in Sentai history
  • @androyus
Really appreciate that you're doing this & have the patience to sit through it all. Ultraman is one of my favorite hero subgenre up there with Batman & Spiderman. Btw please also react to "All Ultraman Endings" when it's convenient for you. They're all good too 👍
  • @dekamaster100
This is perfect, I was just thinking how you guys haven’t reacted to Ultraman openings yet 😄
  • Damn! You brothers brought me back to 1970s ghetto DC where I grew up watching these shows 🤸🏿‍♂️
  • UGF absolute Conspiracy and Destined Crossroad is the best ultraman series they made because it's combined all Ultraman series including Ultraman that Tsuburaya collab with other countries like Ultraman Ribut, Ultraman Powered and other else.
