  • Been a pleasure meeting your team and working on this together, a great bunch and passionate about crafted goods. Other than a great boot the difference that is made to each Ranger that will get a new pair goes a lot further than one thinks or understands. Another big thanks to all that have supported our journey so far.
  • @tehloling1
Oh man, I thought it was going to be made out of poachers. :(
  • @Mayobb833
Just bought myself a pair, this boot is filling a void that I've been looking for. I have been wanting a pair of barefoot boots that have a thicker outsole that's good for hiking and is also durable enough to last I'm excited to try these out. Also big thank you to Rose Anvil for being pioneers in the footwear game and taking things outside of the normal footprint to allow for new innovations to take effect. I can see this starting a new path in the barefoot footwear industry that we have been needing for a while.
  • I have been wearing Jim Green boots for more than 25 years in construction , engineering, boating and adventure biking. I have 11 pairs from the B5(2) to Razorbacks. I wear through about 2 soles per year. I rotate them a lot and wear nothing else. I use the B5 with very thin sole to walk the steel when rigging structures because of the support and flexibility(first pair I ever bought) Every few years I pack the worn boots in a box and send them back to Crouch. 3 weeks later they arrive back as good as new. Not one upper has ever given up. I reckon that is the best lifetime Guarantee I have come across. I may try the Ranger but the conditions on the Cape West Coast are fairly harsh so I may just stick with my Razorbacks. Truly the most honest product I have ever come across Thank you guys

Hell yeah, this is exactly what I need. My Lems Boulders are great, very comfortable, but it's hard to justify the cost for a boot you can't have resoled. You've made a durable, repairable barefoot boot from a know and reputable manufacturer. Impressive.

Been wearing casual and military/work boots for 20+ years. I bought a pair of their normal African Rangers earlier this year and absolutely love em. The owner described them as 'little tanks on your feet' and I agree. They're comfortable and tough, and I think they're also ruggedly handsome. And, they also allow a wider foot. May have to take a look at these barefoot deals. Wife's gonna scalp me haha

Just placed my order for the Barefoot Boots plus a Freedom Bracelet! Went back-and-forth on the boot color, but ultimately went with Fudge for its patina factor. Huge kudos to Jim Green for reaching out to Rose Anvil, for being open to creating a pretty significant variation on a core product, and for taking the financial risk on pre-manufacturing a reasonably large run of these boots. And huge kudos as well to Weston for making such great choices on this boot! As many other commenters have noted, this is exactly what I've been looking for for some time—a genuine work boot that's anatomically shaped and features no heel-ball offset. Thank you to Jim Green and Rose Anvil for bringing this product into the world!

As a long time watcher, and wearer of quality hiking boots (Danners, Lowas, Alico, ect) and various barefoot shoes and boots, I must say, finally someone did it. I must say when I first saw the African Ranger and considered getting I pair, I was like this almost a real minimalist boot and man if they just adjusted the last a bit and only made it zero drop they could have the perfect and simplest full leather zero drop hiker. And well you did it. Though I think it might be interesting if they offered a toe stiffened option too, but got balance manufacturering logistics....this is awesome. Thanks for making the perfect barefoot hiker!
  • @Dagzfromearth
i have had my pair of African rangers for over a year, they are a great boot, I'm in Mn, and it handled the snow really well, not just the dirt. I also really like the look of this boot, might have to get a second pair.
  • @Tolemy111
Thank you for making this video and all the hard work you put into designing this boot. This is the perfect boot that I was looking for. I swapped over to barefoot shoes 2 years ago and wanted a pair of boots that still felt good on my feet. This fits all the things I was looking for. Thank you. Keep up the amazing work!
  • @tinystego1836
This boot came out just in time! Just moved to PNW and have been needing to get some boots. During my search, I fell in love with the idea of boots that can be repaired instead of replaced, and I also learned about the concept of barefoot shoes and definitely wanted to get a boot that can actually fit my toes comfortably. I couldn't find any leather barefoot boots that can be repaired easily, and just when I was about to give up, here they are! Just bought a pair. Hopefully, they will add a Razorback barefoot option in the future.
  • @patrickmsong
Hey - I bought a pair of the Jim Green's based on your video. They arrived the other day and I must say I LOVE these boots! I was looking for a good alternative to my iron rangers (which I also decided to purchase based in part of your videos) for biking around Brooklyn in the winter. I bought mine true to size (8 m) and they're perfect, I can even wear fairly thick socks and feel good in them. As a martial artist, I also love the fact that these are barefoot and have a very good middle ground between ankle protection and mobility. I can say with relief that my search for my lifetime's worth of quality boots is complete with the Iron Ranger (for really bad weather and long days) and the Jim Green's (for hiking and fairer weather, maybe even training!) Thanks so much for your quality views and sharing your expertise in your field. It's led to me finding my 2 pairs of boots for life! -P
  • @jaysonmoore5166
Mine just got here, and I'm so excited to have a quality boot that's zero drop and flexible. It's exactly what I wanted, and I'm so happy you guys were able to collab and make this dream boot a reality!
  • @michael1882yt
It’s great to hear how proud you are of this collaboration 😊. Such a good cause.
  • @Meianju
This is an incredible project. This seems like the perfect boot to start my barefoot journey. Really happy to see all the foot health learnings come together like this. To top it off, it's a looker and the kind of company I want to support. Love it ❤️
  • @SteveBIRK
I am loving that more and more people are making good looking minimalist shoes/boots. I pretty much can't wear regular shoes for casual wear.
  • @joseavila5099
I’ve appreciated all the specific info you’ve put out over the years, and I was really happy to see you start reviewing barefoot footwear. Could you do a series on winter (waterproof and warm) barefoot boots?
  • @paulcummins4134
This is exactly the kind of boot I was looking for. Wide toe box but has a tougher sole that you can have repaired when it wears out
  • @montithered4741
This is such an awesome collaboration! Quality workmanship, quality materials, quality design, at a reasonable price. Gotta give you mad props for giving a balanced and open review. The boot isn’t perfect, but perfect doesn’t exist when the use and environment can vary so much. Many thanks to you, Jim Green boots, and especially the African Rangers!
