Technology allows us to connect with people from around the world and if you creatively use dating apps to meet people when you're traveling, this is potentially an easy way to tap into the enthusiasm of a local and get the best travel tips, restaurant recommendations, and maybe even a friend to tour you around the area!
Even if the people you meet on the app aren't tourists, this is still a way to make friends and experience the new place you're visiting. I personally travel for the culture and the people, rather than just seeing the buildings, so it's important to avoid the tourist traps - and that's difficult unless you either know someone in that destination or you meet someone online who is!
In my experience trying this method, I went to the Philippines with two friends who wanted to push me out of my comfort zone... and we got stellar advice on places to visit (Coron, El Nido, Cebu) and some activities that we should do while there. It's a creative way to use Tinder for sure, but please exercise cautions before meeting up with people you meet on the internet... fo real be safe y'all... This is an easy to way to use Tinder Gold in 2020 to get free travel advice and make genuine connections, but just don't abuse it. These are tinder dates gone wrong.... or not at all?
