We traveled to Egypt over the Christmas holiday period in 2022/2023. Though our time was brief, we made the most of it by exploring the Nile river valley, starting in Cairo where we saw Islamic Cairo, Coptic Cairo, and the pyramids of Giza and Saqqara. We flew down to Aswan where we stayed in a Nubian village and toured Abu Simbel before we boarded the Movenpick Sun Ray for a 3-night cruise to Luxor. Along the way, we visited Kom Ombo and Edfu. In Luxor, we saw the Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon, and the temples of Hatshepsut, Karnak, and Luxor. Egypt is full of archaeological wonders and it was a dream come true to see them in person.

This is a fantastic vlog. Thank you for putting the effort into doing this. We are going to Egypt in 4 weeks and this has given me a realistic idea of what to expect, although we are having a 7 night Nile cruise and 3 nights in Cairo. I’m very excited about visiting Egypt and your vlog has got me looking at the guide books again to refresh my memory about a bit of the history and what we really want to see. A lovely family and lucky to have parents who love to travel and introduce their family to other cultures and experiences.

Loved this video. So down to earth. I'm planning a similar trip for myself and my daughter this December, I can't wait. We're both in awe of Egypt
  • This has to be the best video we've seen! Very informative and provides excellent information as to what we can expect on our upcoming trip. As a Canadian its really good to get another Canadian's perspective. Thanks for sharing and happy travelling!
  • I was impressed with this video, that I found professional, well researched and above all fair (no drama or exaggeration). You were absolutely right not to ride camels at the pyramids. I was mostly impressed by what a lovely family this is. Kids you’re really lucky to have such cultivated and decent parents!
  • I just got back from a visit to Egypt. We actually had the same tour guide..I know I will not be able to spell his name right, but Moostafah was an amazing guide and had amazing knowledge about Egypt and esp the pyramids and temples. Thank you for the video!
