My father in law took his name off the VFW. He said he supports the troops but not the govt. He even asked for a non military burial. He is ashamed of what he did on behalf of the us govt. Wen he returned from Korea VA denied him his combat pay n benefits. My father was on the lady Lex / uss lexington in the south Pacific in ww2 and his brothers went to Europe and landed on D-Day. They all had very negative views of our govt and the military war machine.
