Saying goodbye is always hard - but it’s a particular kind of tricky when an actor is leaving a role they grew up with practically their whole lives. Wrapping certain scenes made for several emotional farewells. The final scene Rupert Grint and Emma Watson filmed together left both actors completely soaked and full of overwhelming feelings - a solid combo of the intense scene itself and knowing they were one step closer to saying goodbye to their characters forever - but luckily - it wasn’t the last time! The 20th-anniversary reunion special brought about a mix of feelings and memories from all the performers who got the chance to walk the halls of Hogwarts once again Reflecting back on such a special time and of course, the performers they’ve lost over the years, made for a complete tear-fest. Tissues were required. When Helena Bonham Carter met her end as Bellatrix Lestrange, she also happened to wrap up her time on set - so a double ending of course made for quite an overwhelming day.
No matter the day or the circumstance, these emotional moments were always met with support and care from the HP fam.

It was wonderful seeing the cast reunite and reminisce about growing up with each other. It was like seeing old friends again, since many of us did grow up watching them. ♥️🥰
-
What makes me cry even more is the fact that I haven’t watched the reunion yet 😭
-
The aabsence of Alan Rickman is painful. His screen death is one of the most moving. I hope at some time there was a toast or a moment to memorialize the actor who was so central to the series.
-
I don't know why, but that hug between the three where Daniel has his one arm outstretched for Rupert, while the other is hugging Emma just hits me in the feels.
-
"I love you.... as a friend" that's a real Ron moment right there XD
-
I bet when the actors watch the movies over again, they won't see them as movies, they'll see them as memories.
-
so from the reunion we can tell that Dan was closer to the adult cast more than Rup and Emma. It showed that Emma cried and was more emotional with Rup and Tom than Dan.
-
The thing about Sirius Black Death was Harry was really screaming he had just lost his grandma that day and it was very hard on him
-
The way they portrayed these scenes was so great. Such amazing acting by each of them. Also loved the reunion.

Harry Potter was my childhood, especially the darker films
-
I watched it last night and it was so emotional seeing which actors have died since the final Harry Potter movie.

If I may add: Another reason for reshooting the epilogue was the negative feedback they got for the looks of the grown up trio (and Malfoy) seen from leaked images from the set. The makeup aged them much more than the 38 or so years old they were supposed to be. I'm glad they redid it. The original look was pretty darn bad. We can see glimpses of it in this video at 8:10. Harry looks very different here than in the final cut we saw.

Harry Potter is one of the best series and fantasy worlds ever created.
-
When Harry lost Sirius it was such an emotional scene that it made both Emma Watson and Helena Bonham Carter cry
-
So many people were watching a coming of age while coming of age. I think the loyalty and dedication of the cast and crew through so many years is really something unique.
-
2:20 is no one going to talk about how cutee they look on this scene like they r on the verge of tears but they still manage to look like the adorable glolden trio they truly are
-
Daniel's screams had to be cut out they were so painful
-
I kind of understand why they don't tell the actors when their last day will be. However, I understand how heartbreaking it can be for the actors too. It is like running really fast for so long and then stopping suddenly.

Has anyone else realised that in book 6 professor slughorn says “after what happened to your friend Rupert” and then the actual actor who played Ron was named Rupert like is this just me??? 😦😶😐

J.K. Rowling and the cast and all who participated in the books and movies did an outstanding job on a whole other level. They all set the bar for generations to come!!!
