Disney's live-action remakes of its animated classics have become a box-office staple over the years. In order to make a photorealistic world of talking animals, "The Jungle Book" and "The Lion King" relied on innovative virtual production techniques.

"Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" made Angelina Jolie look like she was flying through the air, and "Mulan" used wire work to allow its heroes to do gravity-defying stunts. In "Aladdin," Will Smith donned a motion-capture suit, which allowed the film to create the Genie with CGI while still giving the character the actor's signature moves. And "Beauty and the Beast" built its sets from scratch whenever it could.

I guess when the shot mogli the fantasy of the child actor was really appreciated
  • @palakmehta365

"everything the audience loved" u know what I loved? mulan being a strong woman who was able to climb up the ranks with pure determination and hard work and seeing her do this, not through superpowers.

I feel like we don’t give the people behind the scenes who makes all this happen enough appreciation

I still find it absolutely INSANE that there isn't a Stunt or Stunt Choreography award in the industry! Shame on the people who run it. One of the only professions in film where people actually die while working on movies.

Imagine being a Hollywood actor and being asked to dress up in a green suit and portray a baby elephant

Liu Yifei did 90% of her own stunts. Damn. Also Angelina Jolie is legendary as ever.

The behind the scenes teams need more recognition like awards and red carpet

There’s not a single Disney Remake that I like better than the original, but the work they put into them is extremely admirable and should be appreciated.

Let’s give a moment of a appreciation for the animators

2015's Cinderella will forever be my favorite. It's just perfection and gives me butterflies every time I watch it

“I heard you acted in the Jungle Book?” “Yeah, I was one of the hands with the googly eyes” “What?” “I think they took us out.”

The actor of dumbo: “ did you know that I was the actor of dumbo.” Friend: “No you’re not.”
  • Imagine being the only human being in a movie and all other characters are props
  • The effects team for every movie like this deserves an out standing award..
  • The behind-the-scenes are more magical to me than the actual movies. As much as I don't like the remakes (we all can agree that nothing will top the classics), I have to admit that the work behind them is fantastic

Out of all the movies from this video, the best is Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. That movie had amazing cgi and lighting vfx.

I remember when my sister told me they are making a live action Beauty And The Beast a couple years ago. I said to her,” I wonder how they will do Aladdin, because it has a lot of hard stuff that would be difficult to bring to life. Like the flying carpet and stuff!” Yet here we are...
