  • I saw it in theaters and I’ve got to say the underwater scenes were the most immersive scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie
  • James Cameron is a legend. Him and his team revolutionized the use of CG in cinema.
  • Watching this movie in imax 3D was truly unreal. It really felt like you were there on a real planet under real water with these characters
  • This movie doesn’t feel like 3 hours because it’s so immersive. I was always so captivated by the performances, especially from the general, every scene he was in, I was always so invested. James Cameron knows what he’s doing.
  • James Cameron is one of a kind. Not only is he a great filmmaker and storyteller but he has something extremely rare, innovator mentality. Basically “it doesn’t exist yet, then let’s make it.” Truly an icon.

After working on 3D animation as a hobby for years I learnt how to identify and recognize many 3D and VFX techniques on animation and movies, always taking away my immersion to the media, but watching this movie I could never notice anything out of place, everything is so well done and it really feels like you're watching something real, everything makes sense visually and feels natural
  • When the behind the scenes footage is more interesting than the movie itself
  • As a painter myself, I know how intimidating or challenging water can be to replicate. I imagine its the same deal for the CGI world, and when I watched this I was actually blown away by how good the water looked. I actually can't believe they finally solved how to animate water.

I saw Avatar in 4D yesterday (watching 3d with moving chairs, droplets, smoke, and air). I almost cried multiple times because of the flawless cinematography and immersion. Truly an unforgettable experience.
  • Actors had an adventure of life recording the movie, so we can have an adventure watching it.
  • @ChrisMarrin
The movie was gorgeous. I did not want the underwater scenes to end. I actually went a second time. People, go experience this in theaters please. It really is an experience.
  • Paid $50 to see this in imax 3d with my girl, and I never thought I would be able to justify that... I’d pay $200 to see it again if I had to. Gonna go again this weekend
  • I love that they’re more accurately calling this “performance capture” now since it’s so much more than just motion.
  • @QuestMode
“Even I’m the 1900s.” Dude literally just referred to me as an antique.
  • @pakaru1638
Oh, i forgot Avatar wasn't real. Impressive CGI.
  • i feel like avatar broke the bad streak of hyped things going bad the movie is really incredible
  • @daanbos5918
People: wow how did you animate the water so good James: that’s the neat part, I didn’t
  • i cant believe james cameron became water just to shoot a movie about more water
