My wife and kids wanted to visit a guy again who has got a pretty big miniature train in his garden. Because he is always so nice, we decided we wanted to give him something in return, hence a classic German train crossing sign.

00:00 - Preparing the wood (Ash and Maple).
02:07 - Cutting the positive from Maple.
05:58 - Cutting th negative from Ash.
09:57 - Putting the parts together.
13:44 - Bird's eye planing.
15:01 - Sanding.
15:19 - Oiling it up. The Ash just looks like chocolate. Yum. :)

I am not completely happy with the result because of the little gaps but I think I might have figured out a solution. Will keep you posted.

  • Very nice work and overcoming slight variances in our projects is a skill that must be learned quickly to succeed. I have just finished upgrading my lowrider v2 to v3 & I have Burly, which I built first a few years back. I do custom signs for friends and their friends:). Nothing to write home about but fun to do. Thanks for the video!
  • Hey nice Project! I was wondering what caused the little gaps? How accurate is your MPCNC?
