COBIA GETS DESTROYED - DON'T DO THIS - BOAT FAIL | ROUGH INLETS | Boats at Jupiter Inlet

Where did the captain go wrong in this boat fail?

UPDATE - I did learn after posting this video that the front cooler on this vessel is removable and not glassed in like the current model. The boat handled it quite well considering the conditions, I was impressed it got back and kept from broaching over.

Craziest day of 2021 so far. Just when I was about to give up assuming no one would leave the inlet this Cobia sent it. Angry wave after angry wave crushes the boat as it crosses the outside bar at Jupiter. This boat came very close to flipping over as it turned right in front of a breaking wave. There is a lot to learn from this clip, let me know your thoughts down below.

All kinds of boats in Jupiter, FL Palm Beach County transiting one of the most dangerous inlets in Florida. These boats can get themselves in trouble easily if they don't use the correct speed and choose the right lines at Jupiter Inlet. Some weekends there are more awesome boats going in and out of Jupiter Inlet than a boat show. Enjoy the video and don't forget to hit that like button to support the channel.

Guy should thank Cobia for making that awesome boat. He did just about everything you could do to capsize that boat 😳

Money can fill that boat with amazing electronics but it can’t fill that space between the captains ears.
  • BEING RETIRED FROM THE COAST GUARD I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER SEEN SOMEONE PILOT A BOAT THAT POORLY!!!
  • I just love this footage.... I use it in my maritime training classes to demonstrate to students of the pitfalls of bar crossings and inlet transits... keep them coming matey!

COVID face masks on a boat in rough conditions, with no life jackets on pretty much sums up a good portion of the population.

This guy nailed it, did absolutely everything you should never do.
  • Glad the bilge pump was working and it was working overtime! It seems like the only time you find your bilge pump isn't working is when you need it most. That's why I installed two on separate power lines and fuses!
  • After losing hubby and son 2 years ago, I've dreamt of an altered retirement desire to aquire a 40' boat and live on the west coast waters. Then I discovered your channel. Then another. And another. Hmmm. I've decided to look for a houseboat on Lake Mead as the market price falls with the drought. Low n slow.

When it’s 10am on a Saturday and there are no other boats at the ramp, we call that a clue.

I said it before and I'll say it again, " Just because you can afford a boat doesn't mean you should own a boat." This guy is right out of the book of what not to do in rough seas, Holy shit!

The COBIA did NOT get “destroyed”, as your title states. This is a very strong, safe and trustworthy boat. The three occupants (no qualified captain) were very lucky (they did not wear life jackets). Jupiter inlet risks demand that all occupants have life jackets. Some boat operators think it isn’t “cool” to have a life jacket.

The seas were angry that day my friend...like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli.
  • The machine saved all the captain’s mistakes, that’s a great boat.

This guy had no idea what he was doing. He almost lost that boat so many times, and when he's finally coming back in, he still lets waves swamp him from the rear. Unbelievable.
  • This guy was definitely trying to sink his boat for insurance fraud. He definitely did everything he possibly could to sink this boat while still having plausible deniability. Cobias immaculate engineering saved this boat today. This could be an ad for Cobia "it wont sink even when you want it to"

I"ve only been watching boats in inlets videos for about 6 months, but wow! this one is insane. as soon as I would have seen how rough things were, I wouldn't have even gotten in my boat!
  • $300,000 worth of boat... And he doesn't have a freaking clue... been rescuing guys like this since 1958... Good stuff thanks for posting

When I was a kid, I used to fish Jupiter inlet with my dad. He would tell me how dangerous that water was when the tide was going in or out. One day I saw a football end up in the water when the tide was going out. In under a minute the ball was so far out to sea you couldn't see it. That made me believe my dad.
