Moral of the story. Have everything in writing lol no handshake deals
  • For the grandson of the true founders, if you are seeing this, just know that there are many people out there that know the truth.

It’s so crazy how the first McDonald’s ever made is down the street from my school and a 30 minute walk from my house. History never ceases to amaze me.

Michael was perfect for this role, such an incredible actor I never wanted to punch him so bad. The Mcdonald's brothers story is heartbreaking RIP I am grateful their story was made into a masterpiece of a movie. They don't get enough credit for creating fast food.
  • The fact Kroc had the audacity to say ” If they [the brothers] had played their cards right, that 0.5 per cent would have made them unbelievably wealthy.” That’s like randomly knocking someone out and saying “well if he would’ve payed attention”

I worked in a McDonald's in England for three years and loved it. I trained to become a floor manager but decided to go off to college instead and didn't stay long enough to take the exam. Part of the exam prep was the history of McDonald's. I later moved to Redlands, CA in 1992. I remember visiting the site of the original McDonald's and it was emotional. I didn't know the full history before watching the film, but I knew enough to know that I was at the place where McDonald's was born. I loved this video, thank you for sharing.

Advice: Never share your secrets or someone will steal it and become successful.
  • I would be extremely bitter and gutted if I was missing out on $100 million a year
  • Important lesson in life : They first win your trust and then backstab you....heart goes out to the brothers 😔
  • I have been a student of business my entire life… I’ve known the story from the beginning, as both my mother and my father worked for the corporation at one time. Some very valuable lessons can be taken from the story, and many of us still consider the McDonald’s brothers the founders of modern day fast food and the business models that derived from their humble beginnings. This is a story that should be told and appreciated over and over again. I was once told that everything has already been done, it’s what you do with it today… That makes it different. I started my small business with competition all around me, yet we continue to grow and prosper. The wheel may not be able to be reinvented, but you can still add your mark that makes it different. Take into account the ingenuity and the dream, and make your dreams a reality by putting in the work.

And to think McDonalds tried to demolish the old Downey location until the Historical Society stepped in. Now, it's been fully restored and is a great movie location for films as well as a functioning McDonalds.

Recently, saw the movie, loved it! Great piece of history, learned something new, felt bad for the Mcdonalds brothers, very unfortunate their own creation and dream was stolen from right out of their own hands. Ray took their vision and ran with it.
  • I went to this McDonald’s when I was 13, I am 63! I can’t believe I remember, so long ago.... I was on my way to Mexico on a student trip...my first McDonald’s experience.
