To the surprise of many international K-pop fans, a good chunk of the Korean public believed New Jeans creator Min Hee-jin told the truth about the war with HYBE at her hysterical press conference. Her supporters say foreigners, who thought she was lying, simply don't understand Korean culture.

Here are the top reasons why an unwashed, casually-dressed CEO with an incoherent potty mouth was able to win over the Korean public with wild accusations. And here's why I still think she's lying. Yes, the Korean public was correct to assess her behavior as 'honest'. But did they double check whether the 'truthful sounding' package actually contained the TRUTH?

When she mentioned the fact that "it was not about the money" too many times, you know its exactly about the money.

Thank you, finally, somebody said it. I don't understand why people suddenly forget who she is and what she does. She is a Creative Director who specializes in Brand Image. She's been doing it for decades and she is extremely good at it. If she can brand a group of teenagers as a representation of Y2K, then she can brand herself as a common worker who is abused by the company. In truth, she is the CEO of a rapidly growing label who got paid by the millions and has 18% shares of the company. She is richer than every artist under Hybe, including BTS members who built Hybe. Do people think she randomly picks the clothes from her wardrobe and goes with it? No, from the regular clothes to her choices to go up there alone with no makeup and bawling her eyes out, it's all part of the image that she wants to convey. Make no mistake, Hybe is no saint either, but in this case, it's clear that the Kind CEO is the one who wants to manipulate the public's opinion. If she is not guilty, then let them do their audit, attend the shareholders meeting, and prove you're innocent there. We of the international community can smell rich and powerful people's BS from a mile away.

As an international person, I saw through her attitude instantly. Dressed sloppily to look like a victim? Lifting her cap up every time she shed tears so that everyone could see? Overconfidence and unwilling to take advice from her lawyers despite apparently being a very soft and easily manipulated person? Laughable.

As a woman I was offended! She played on every single feminine stereotype type that we try to avoid. She commented on the common man whilst earning millions of dollars. And her over emotional connections to the girls was too much. The worst thing for me is how blinded the Korean population is. If they heard what she said and was like I “but…” they have not questioned anything. Mind blown!🤯
  • @Ggggg1gggg
It’s sad how most Koreans fell for her act, while most non-Koreans didn’t. The Koreans will then go all the way to defend her like crazy. “yOu nEEd tO uNdErStanD koReAn aNd wAtcH tHe wHoLE cOnFerEncE!!” Dawg you don’t even need Korean to see through that pathetic act. You just need to know her background and history, and what HYBE were accusing her of, to know EXACTLY what she was trying to do.
  • @chan8199
People just want any excuse to criticize a big company. All they asked was for her to turn in her computer and she refused. That's enough to suspect her. I don't understand the cultural nuances but I know damn well that she's up to no good
  • @cindywhite3914
It is called a "CON". What to wear, when to cry, obvious from the get go.... a con artist. Don't be gullible to the sham.
  • @earlysy4284
She didn’t fool me either. Why would Bang PD destroy his reputation for 13yrs. existing hard work, all the staff and all the artists hard work. She came to the company and said that Bang Pd didn’t treat her well, seriously is she in puberty or menopause. Be real, is this a copy of a KDrama, too. Yap, She’s just greedy 😏.

Min Hee-jin is good at what she does. She is one of the best brand/pr women in the business. She knows the culture of her people best and with that she was able to easily pull off this con. The clothes, the crocodile tears, I'm one of you, it's not about the money, the cursing, stop taking pictures of me. It was all designed to win sympathy and overlook the real issue. It worked. As for the difference of opinion between international fans and the Korean public I'm not surprised. I can't speak on how wealthy people, politicians or other people of power normally present themselves to the Korean public when they caught up in their own nonsense, but I can say that many international fans have seen this type of clown show many times and can spot someone trying to manipulate and play games. I can safely say that if she came out and put on that performance in the states it would have been game over. Absolutely nobody would believe the words "I'm just like you" from a multi-millionaire with power and the ability to live in a bubble that shields her from the life that most average citizens live. Also, when you can't give a plausible answer as to why you didn't hand in your laptop, it's a wrap. You will not be winning over the public.
  • @Cuscos
As someone from the UK I was really surprised to see people believing this performance. The victim dressing, fake tears, rambling on and on. It was very clear to see it was an act for sympathy. I personally do not think the tears were because she was upset but more because she had been caught out !
  • @lmg633
She's a PR woman She knows how to win the Korean public based on appearances, thats how Koreans judge people, well thats how International see it. International people aren't that fooled by appearances. I see it very manipulative. I'd love to see Min Hyejin have a lie detector test.
  • @user-br5qu9uj9b
Koreans are emotional and proud of it. As soon as Min cried and was hysterical, people turned on sympathy mode and turned off logic. Koreans told me that number one crime in Korea is swindlement. Believe them. They are kind people, but too kind (sometimes). I like your analysis :) CU next . . . Was funny
  • i am korean and sadly i have to admit that koreans are easily to be manipulated by emotion. we often judge based on compassion and feelings than dry facts. remember depp and his wife case in the usa. people in usa didn't fall for the emotion tactics.
  • @HM-vu4bl
As Korean myself living abroad, I often frustrated how K public are so quick to judge, and quick to blame and attack someone over trivial things, without seeing the whole picture,, and how different mindset they have. MHJ knows exactly what she is doing, she has been planning, and calculating for a while. She knows how K public will empathize her, how easily be swayed by her emotions, be vulnerable to tears, and she knows how to distract and play public. Of course, some antis, and jealous haters might support her no matter what the truth is. Let me be clear, she is not a victim, not an underdog, not a whistle-blower, not an employee who bullied by big company.
  • She is playing the underdog card with a vengeance. But in court it’s not a popularity contest, it’s a matter of facts and evidence.
  • @nicoshuba
Truth is true, and lies are lies. Lee Sun Kyun died as a result of Korean netizens believing lies. Did the citizens learn nothing?
  • @Taecoconut
Yeah I keep getting ppl saying I know nothing and Hybes audit is shady blah blah blah and I was thinking - these ppl obviously have never worked in a corporate environment before …
  • As an International fan we may not understand fully Korean culture, it does not mean we can see a press conference and see how unprofessional the person is. They way she under dressed, no make up and the swearing and tears does not inspire us to believe her. We see a manipulator and then we have to wonder if anything she is saying is true. Also as mothers many of us do not understand when she basically kept bringing New Jeans into the conversation. A natural instinct of a mother is to protect their children and not use them to benefit themselves. I understand the Korean point of view and some International fans that they have fallen for her act because Koreans have a reputation for siding with the underdog when it comes to corporates and also they have a very strong cancel culture prior to the evidence being out. Of course New Jeans fans are also siding with her because they are worried what will happen to New Jeans just as BTS fans are majority are supporting Hybe in case it effects BTS. I think because of the ridiculous rumours and horrible accusations that have since come around they have not helped her case as she is actually doing what she had planned to do!
  • Agree with you. Like when BTS on their early years with BigHit, internationally people loves BTS but not the Korean people until BTS makes it big by winning on billboard anf etc ... they believed all the accusations made by the haters ...
  • @entropyawylli24
It´s not about if she is lying! That is not the thing! It is that pure fact that she goes public to wash all dirty laundry! THAT is not a proffesional way to behave in a company/corporate! She should have fufilled HYBES request for her laptop...but she did this instead...probably bc she knows that ppl are so easily manipulsted! The things she brought up is just emotional stuff....you don drive a business like that!
