Getting Over It v1.4

The original game was made by Griffpatch

TAS made by me:

This TAS uses v1.1 I believe, though there is no differences in gameplay between the updates.

THIS IS A TOOL-ASSISTED SPEEDRUN
A tool-assisted speedrun does things such as slowing down the game, using savestates, and many more "cheats" to record inputs, which can then be played back as real inputs to the game, where they would work the same way. Learn more at tasvideos.org/

Because Scratch is very inconsistent, I could not just replay the inputs, sadly. If Scratch were much more consistent in how it worked -- allowing for even the general playing back of inputs with desync, this would indeed only use the inputs, but instead to make sure this is correct I save things such as level position and camera position as well. This is all completely possible to do in the real game, though not for a human.

Statistics for anyone wondering:
15-20 minutes to make inputs in real time
~100-150 rerecords (going back in time to a previous part)
Played at 1/5 regular speed for recording inputs

What I thought:
This was very fun to TAS! Everything apart from the one tiny bat you have to swing off of went fairly well... the little bat is easy in normal gameplay, but in 1/5 speed I have to be above the bat one frame and on it the next... that took a very long time to get! The beginning I also had to redo a lot, just because it's a bit difficult to lose the minimal amount of speed.

Also I love that the TAS finished before the first bit of commentary finished :)

This video is not sped up in any way, and the inputs are being played back real time, as seen by the super fast moving mouse in game. Do these exact inputs and be very lucky with Scratch giving you the exact same results, and you'll have the exact same thing!
