  • This Q & A really hit home Gary! So many times I read comments that I really just want to tell the person on the other end my true thoughts of their absurd comments, but showing restraint, I just block, ban or delete depending on the severity of their comment like you do. No one has time for that mess! PS, I did raise hogs back in the 1990's and we referred to it as feeding the hogs, but I remember my dad calling it "slop the hogs" There are so many words with different meanings, and it kills me that most people don't already know this. I have been beat up a number of times on my Steamed Crawfish video from people, because I mentioned that the kids would be also eating them, and they are offended because I added beer into the steaming liquid. I honestly thought everyone knew alcohol burns off when boiled. I guess I was wrong lol! Great video Gary, and thanks!

Loved your answers on this one Gary. Tell it like it is brother!!! I'm really enjoying these Q & A videos!!!
  • Great to get to the bottom of these questions Gary. Now please pass a little slop my way.
  • Slop is Awesome..I love to Slop up the drippings left in the pan, with a peace of bread. Keep up the good work.
  • The ribeye steak comment resinated with me. I try to explain the same thing that you did... There is more than one way to cook things, such as steak and ribs. We rack our brains trying to demonstrate other techniques and recipes. If we didn't, like you said, we'd have hundreds of the same videos.
  • Hi Gary , Enjoyed that. Love your channel . Keep up the good work .
  • Don't you know that everybody else's way of cooking or using their vernacular is the right way? lol. Just kidding. love all your videos and recipes. I've learned so much from you. Glad your back and your enjoying life with your travels!
  • plenty of pigs around here. Slop is not a generally used as a feed for production feed for pork. Anymore. It used to be. Yes technically slop is table scraps or left over edible household stuff that is fed to the pigs. However the term is used in many ways. To be inexact in the methods of doing your work is called sloppy so is being careless with your manner of dress. A road that is wet and filled with mud or snow is considered sloppy. To add a sauce to a thing being cooked is to slop it on when tidiness is not a concern. And yes the liquid left on the plate can be referred to as slop but that has not ever slowed me down from soaking it up with bread and eating it. people need to chill out.
  • Gary, Your first Q&A. I agree with you! Cooking food is fun but it can get boring if done the same way all the time. Each person has there own methods that works for them, but may not work well with others. It's good to experiment and have fun with it. However for someone that says your doing it all wrong is projecting themselves in a bad way. For me I will listen to the way they cook, If I don't agree then I won't do it there way. They don't have to eat my cooking so WHO CARES! lol. I will say this though. Living in Alaska most often we have to deal with different weather at any given time. So what someone does in the lower 48 states may not always work here. So that being said we all have to adjust but the ingredients and the cooking process is pretty much the same. To many people are food police now days and I do quit paying attention to them. I'm from Alaska and I noticed you are having one of our Alaskan beers. Hope you like our beer? I really want to thank you for taking the time a producing your recipes and putting them to video. I enjoy watching each episode and use many of your recipes in my dutch oven year around. I've really learn a lot about dutch ovens from you and I thank you for you taking the time and showing everyone. Happy you are feeling better now and glad to have you back. God bless you Gary and your family. Keep cooking my friend and have fun with it. Take care always!
