The soap and Acid Wash I get locally, but there are lots of online options. And you can use what you have on hand as well ( like a good dish soap and vinegar. With Vinegar you need much more added to the water to bring the acidity up.)

  • I forgot to mention that we only milk once a day. You DO get less milk by only milking once a day, but it's worth it to us to have the flexibility to do other things :)
  • I didn't realize until now that my 14-year old dachshund has actually been preparing me to be a goatkeeper one day. But he's definitely taught me a thing or two about the importance of being more stubborn than the animal you're caring for. 😁

Thanks for bringing us along and sharing insight into your routine, Heather! It definitely is a commitment for all the daily chores. Baby rabbits look so sweet - that was quite a litter! The baby goats were definitely letting us know they were ready to be out haha. Winnie will get tamer I'm sure with more cuddle and bottle time. 💚:_Clover::_NigieKid:🐇:_MilkCan:🐇:_NigieKid::_Clover:💚

Thanks so much for taking us along today. I think Talia's would be my #2 favorite udder to milk - Plus she is so sweet! Looking forward to seeing Breezy on the milking stand in about a month!

Good morning Beautiful Today I turn 56. Love your videos. Sorry I haven't been watching as close. My boy kitty had to have an amputation due to birth defect. He's doing wonderfully.

Wow! Milking is a lot of work but so worth it I bet. Your kids have lots of milk for them to drink. ❤❤❤

  • Oh I Winnie you are a wild one! Naught naughty girl! I love my milk machine with a passion, I don’t know how I’ve been living without it. I don’t move mine, it’s in the milk room and I take all the stuff to clean it there. Such a blessing to milk with a machine! Blessings friend!

I recently had to attempt to bottle train triplets....never mastered it, they were skittish and flat refused to drink from a bottle even if I covered their eyes (which usually does the trick) So morning and evening I put mama on the stand, grabbed a baby, snuggled it whether it wanted to be snuggled or not, then put it on the stand to nurse mama. I then I'd do the same to another, when I got to the 3rd kid, I'd pull one off mama and replace with a sibling. I did this pull, snuggle, re-latch on to mama rotation repeatedly until mama finished her food and baby bellies were plump. It on took 3 days, morning and evening....kids got 12 hour overnight separation after that and dam raised from then on. Friendly as can be, in your pocket goats now!

Chill Milk while milking ... I watched More than farmers, He uses stainless steel drink cubes made for on the rocks chill with no water added. Super cool Idea I may try when I start to get more milk.
  • Oh goodness Winnie! I feel your pain. Our two bucklings took 4 (!!) days away from mom before they would actually take any milk from the bottle. It took us hours those first days to get enough milk in them. I've never been so frustrated at such a cute little thing, lol!
  • What a stubborn little girl Winny is!! I actually have a gorgeous Lamancha doe that has never tamed down, no matter what I've done. If there's a fence between us, she will take treats from my hand, but nothing else. I've never been able to consistently milk her. She will literally hurt herself or me if I try to catch her. 😞 I keep her just to get doelings from her. They are some of the best producers I have; just have to get them away from mom!! Your goats are looking great & producing well!! God bless!
