Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here:    • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are in our 9TH YEAR of finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

"I'm exhausted from feeling awkward." - most relatable thing ever said

Nate saying "canapés" gave me the laugh I needed today <3

My best friend and I did this in 2019 when I was moving from Vancouver (my hometown) to Toronto for university. Let me tell you, this trip looks very different if you do it on the cheapest possible ticket… 4 days of being crammed in a car with a dozen other people and 4 nights sleeping in what were essentially reclining airplane seats. Still one of my best travel experiences!
  • I love you guys, I really love the conversation around mental health and normalizing therapy. However, I REALLY wish you would stop promoting Better Help. It is probably one of the sneakiest, worst services in the world. They’ve been sharing private information for money, they treat their therapists horribly and that leads to worse treatment for patients. Therapy is super important and necessary, Better Help is a parasite of a company and I cannot believe that after all they’ve done they’re still getting YouTubers agreeing to promote them. Please please consider cutting ties with them. I have so much respect for you guys and I know others do too and I hate to think that people are willingly giving this company money because of that respect for you. Thank you for the consideration.

My kids and I have been waiting all week for this video. We are from Canada and we were all dying to know how this trip was!!

Nates genuine curiosity and thoughtfulness is unmatched. Kara's genuine kindness and appreciation for every moment and thoughtfulness is unmatched.

The fact that you were courteous to your fellow passengers that were eating opposite you, strengthens my already existing belief, that you are both good people. God bless and long may you travel. Thanks for letting us be part of your epic journey.

Kara I adore seeing how joyful you look in your videos! I appreciate how you look after your mental health and how honest you are about it.

I did that trip in 1969 when I was 12, but from the other direction. My dad got a job in Vancouver and we took the train from Toronto to Vancouver. In my brain the 3.5 day trip lasted approximately 76 years, especially since I had to share a small room with my older brother.

I've wanted to take this train, FOREVER. Unfortunately my health drained my bank account and at 70 I probably won't be able to recover. I guess I travel vicariously through you both....THX!!
  • @ZiouyHiocv

Hi Kara & Nate ~ can’t wait to watch your vlog on the second part of your journey – I live in a rehabilitation centre as I suffer with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis and lupus. I’m either bedbound or wheelchair bound – I can only dream about all your travels – your content is great, and so is everything else – thank you for all you do and all your hard work in putting the vlogs up ~ sending loads of love and loads of hugs to you both ~ Xxx Xxx

This episode just warmed my heart. I’m so proud of my home country of Canada. I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip. Canada is such a beautiful country. Kara, I bawled like a baby watching the last episode of Ted Lasso. Like you, I didn’t want it to end. I haven’t loved a show as much as Ted Lasso since Friends. Safe travels and take care of one another.❤

Thank you Kara and Nate…a lovely trip seeing our beautiful country through train travel is amazing! Hope you two come to the East Coast someday️
  • @cd2290
Kara, everyone deserves to be happy and loved! We all love your videos and love seeing your adventures, but it’s also so much better when you’re just loving life and enjoying yourself. That’s what we connect on. We may never travel to the places you visit and we may forget the fun facts you share, but we all watch to see the laughter and fun you and Nate have exploring the world. ❤
