Road Trip Test Drive! 2021 Ford Bronco 2-Door

Published 2022-02-07
In this review, Jill Ciminillo takes the beastly 2-Door Ford Bronco on a road trip. Does it handle as well on the open road as it does on the rocky trail? Is there a G.O.A.T. mode for that? Watch to find out if Jill thinks the Bronco is road trip worthy, and let us know your own thoughts in the comments.

I don't like that so many people want the Bronco to be an ultra-refined GT touring commuter, with a quiet interior and a more relaxed and numbed driving experience. This is supposed to be an enthusiast platform, which SHOULD feel a little raw and unrefined, with the manual transmission, removeable doors and tops, a lift and 35 inch AT tires from the factory. You don't buy a Harley and complain about the exhaust noise, you don't buy a Shelby GT350R and complain about the stiff suspension. Ford has about a dozen other models if all you want is comfortable highway commuter with awd for bad weather. I wish people would stop demanding the few enthusiast cars left on the market all be designed for soccer mom duty.

Jill, I just love your practical approach to performing these reviews. The perspective you provide is so valuable. Thank you!

Jill, "this wind noise is terrible, I wouldn't be able to hear my passenger in the front seat" Ford, "We've got the all new 'Helicopter Pilot Headset/Mic Pack' now available for Bronco owners, just $499!"

Thank you for the honest and real world review Jill 👍

I LOVE that you did this in a 2 door. Fantastic and I’d love to see more real world travel videos 👍

You guys took the smallest person to make the bronco...Huge!! That's funny 🤣🤣🤣

Just got my 22' 2 door base manual hard top (non Sasquatch) with roof rails 8 days ago. I got the same exact fuel mileage with the 2.3L engine. However there is hardly any significant wind noise with mine. I was actually quite impressed at how good the sound deadening headliner works. The reverse camera is extremely low quality and I am getting a totally upgraded sound system this Saturday. Other than the disappointing highway mileage and crappy reverse camera and sound system, I absolutely love love love this vehicle! If I wanted great mileage I would have bought a Honda Civic lol.

I had no idea the hardtop had that much wind noise, I dont think I could commute with that daily. I have a lifted truck on true 35's and it's not bad at all on road trips.

Sasquatch package with bigger tires really cuts down on fuel mileage 😮 but 18-20 for big bend is about what I'm getting outta my Blazer
  • You're going to get more noise because of your tires that are included Sachquach option.
  • Love the new bronco would love to have one. But the road noise is making me rethink it maybe ford will fix the problem hopefully because I always had bronco s .

Great review I love the styling of the two door. I couldn’t hear you because of all the wind noise LOL you said you were getting 16 miles per gallon what speed were you traveling on the highway?
  • @sandman6298
I'll put up with the wind noise at higher speeds, waiting on my bronco Soft top BL to be delivered,( hopefully) next week.
  • @mikeriv60
Hi, Can someone please explain to me, I always thought the Sasquatch package had a silver ring around the rims but I noticed on this wild track it had black full rims. Thanks

Our 2023 2-door V- 6 Bronco has very little wind noise and gets 22-23 mpg on the highway. No cruise control issues either. So, maybe Ford watches your videos.
