Mysterious ABANDONED Offgrid Mansion Hidden from the World

Published 2024-08-02
I spend a lot of time on Google Earth searching for abandoned structures. I seen this large building so I had to mark it on my map and take a closer look. This structure was designed to be completely offgrid a Self-Sufficient home. It was built in 1985 by a very smart man. He had great vision and ideas for the amazing structure. The walls are 1 foot thick, 4000psi of reinforced concrete tied into the granite bedrock. It was secured into the bedrock with dowel pins every 5 feet. The owner/builder said nothing would move this house not even an atomic blast. He said it was built like the pyramids to last forever. Sadly he passed away and the house was not finished. I hope one day someone will finish this house and enjoy the nature surrounding this place.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.

My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.

If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at [email protected] and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

  • Awesome find. He said an atomic bomb couldn't penetrate it, but ironically mother nature claimed it. Great drone footage.

So sad that he couldn’t finish his dream home. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place.
  • I went down the rabbit-hole on the owner of this one a few years ago. What a life. Rich and poor many times and finally made it huge right before his death.

What an amazing discovery, Brent! I explore vicariously through your work, thank you for sharing!
  • Kinda like the other round structure, wasn't it a rotating structure. Incredible... Wow 🤩👌 They had a vision...

What an incredible find. This man had his own vision for a home, sad he died before it was completed. Really Really seculded spot, luv it!!! So glad you hiked back in and located it! You brought us a great explore and the drone fly over gives perspective on the scale of this place. Thank you, Thank you for all of the leg work, filming, and editing to share this explore with us. You Always keep us coming back for more!!!💥💯💥💯
  • Wonder what happened to the original owner's family and why the property was left behind.
  • Would absolutely love a follow-up video to this one Brent - if you locate any drawings - likely hand drawn! Would love to hear more of that interview as well! Great explore! Keep them coming!
  • @Just-me-Laura
Would have just loved to see it completed. It did have a military theme to it. It is a shame no one in the family could have seen it through to completion. Gotta love those drone shots. Thanks for taking us there, Brent.

This is beyond awesome! But I have to admit: I spent quite a bit of the video looking out for that bear!
  • I would love to see the original architects plans of this place, the concept is so cool.

What a find Brent. I’d love to know how he got all the materials in. Hope to seeya soon!

I would love to live there. It's sad that the owner couldn't finish his dream.

Hellooo Brent! Since I’ve been subscribed for at least a decade (another older account), it felt as if I’d seen this before. The other similar structure I don’t think had the same water view or access to it. Too bad it didn’t get finished. Amazing find….👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

Your videos and content are among my very favorites. You don't just record an abandoned place, you give it back it purpose and identity. Even if for just a little while. You do your homework ! You are awesome my friend ! ❤ 🙏
  • Hi and Hurrah !! Missed you - so xcited when I saw you had posted. How u dwin ? We 🇬🇧 are in the midst of a heatwave and I'm all heatwaved out !! I really enjoyed the post because it was so unusual and so far removed from your usual posts. I wonder what happened to these people and their dreams. Bear claw marks made me shiver please be safe . I liked the open circular viewing platform but as usual as you wandered round the clues got more and more confusing . Dont give up your explores I look forward to your work as I am now more or less stuck indoors with spinal probs and you keep me entertained ! Stay safe Brent and keep xplorin ! Janice 🇬🇧 xxx7

Pics with the original owner taken in 1985, a year after I graduated high school. The drone shot going from ground level up through the stairwell was awesome!!! I would love to have seen this place finished.
