Those IKEA glass french presses are sturdier than they look. One farm, three or four large dogs, four kids from 7 to 17, occasional adult tantrums, and years later it's still intact.

I didn't realize someone was using the funnel filter for coffee. I use it strain deep fry oil after I am done with it. Works great for that!

This is still my favorite 17 minute piece of art. James being sassy sprinkled with hearing him say “chonky boi” brings me more joy than nearly anything.

I come from a chemistry background, and we often 'flute' (multiple folds) our filter paper so that it doesn't stick to the walls of the funnel, and therefore block the filtrate from exiting the paper. Highly suggest you try that.
