Seriously? The parents of that kid asked the police over 100 times to investigate Gacy, and they refused? At what point does incompetent become complicit?

John proves that just because someone seems nice, doesn’t mean they’re truly good people.

This is why stereotypes are so harmful. A serial killer got away with heinous crimes because police thought he didn't "look like" a killer. There is no look! Law enforcement should investigate all suspicious behavior.

When my grandfather was a kid he lived in the same neighborhood has John Gacy. He said he was walking around the neighborhood one time and came up on John in his backyard. He motioned my grandfather over to talk. He looked in the backyard and noticed a bunch on construction equipment from his job. My grandfather was a gearhead he was tempted to go ever so he could get a better engine for his motor bike, but he said he got a gut feeling that said not to go over and he left.

I just realized that there were lots of notorious serial killers in the 70’s. Gacy should’ve been caught a lot sooner and the police should’ve taken him more seriously. Rest In Peace everyone who died because of that monster.

Police incompetence is a common denominator in these cases and that’s infuriating They need to be held accountable for all the terrible work some of them they do

It’s crazy to think that Bundy, Gacy, and Dahmer, were all killing in the 70’s

It took for 33 people to go missing before he was caught, wow.

As a person who spends hours and hours with addicts and criminals I can attest to having some of the best initial impressions of people who turned out to be a bunch of thieves and lying sociopaths. What they didn't know was that my background had me aware of this side of their personalities and as soon as they knew the game was finished they turned into the coldest of cold and stopped "participating" in their therapy. Anyone can seem like a boy scout. Some of the absolute worst were in law enforcement.

He literally snitched on himself multiple times and police still didn't arrest him.
  • I was dying to know why people are scared of clowns, now I do. Truly terrifying…

I can't imagine being his child. I hope his kids don't hold any guilt about their father.

My father and my uncles grew up in Gacys neighborhood and my uncle also worked for him one summer. My dad told me about it Gacy wanted to pay my uncle and my dad to clean out his attic my dad and uncle went and both left because of how much of a creeper he was. Thank god someone caught him and my dad and uncle decided against working for him or I wouldnt be here probably

Fun fact: my fathers friend worked as someone who towed trucks during the 70’s. (We live in IL) let’s call the friend Peter. Well, one day, Peter got a call to tow a car that had apparently driven down in a ditch near a river off a highway or road and had gotten stuck. Peter went down and towed the truck, thinking nothing of it. Just a careless driver. He noticed the driver was a little odd, with a safety tag or something on the car. Peter didn’t mind, and did his job. A month later Peter got a call into court, to testify. Peter arrived and the judge was with the man who’s car he towed. The judge asked Peter if this was the man who’s car he had towed and to describe what happened and what the car looked liked. Peter identified the man and car as the one he towed and saw. He shrugged it off as a small crime the man must have done. A few weeks later, all over the news was that John Wayne Gacy had been sentenced to prison and the crimes he has done. Peter looks at the photo of John, and is surprised to realize that John Wayne Gacy was the man who’s car he towed. Apparently Gacy had dropped his last victims body off in the river right before he came and got towed. Pretty crazy!!

I have a LOT of respect and empathy for detectives, I can’t imagine having to go into a crawl space to find and identify bodies at various levels of decomposition, especially bodies of children/minors. They can’t even look away, their job is to study it and document it in as greater detail as possible. I’m sure they see things on the job far more confronting than anything any of us could think up on our own.

The scary part is I grew up around 3 miles from him and the last kid he killed was a friend of my aunts who went for a job from him. That is how he got a lot of his victims as he ran a construction company. I know this lady and she waited for her son that she never saw alive again .

When my dad was a teenager living in Evanston he was late to a concert but luckily ran into his friends dad driving who offered him a ride. Once inside my dad was being asked weird questions and he soon realized that it wasn’t his friend’s dad but a complete stranger. He got out and other than being shaken up from the encounter didn’t think much of it until years later when he saw a picture of the man on the news. Under the picture was the name John Wayne Gacy.
