I've been putting this one together for a while and can't wait for all of you to see it!

With Keith Moon and The Who, there's so much history to choose from!!! I had to consolidate it down to what I felt best showed off the talent of this amazing musician, including playing a few song clips myself, to demonstrate how unique his parts are, (with a short medley of TOMMY). I hope you enjoy the life of Keith Moon, and discover all over again the sometimes hidden genius of a once in a lifetime drummer. Greats like Keith Moon, in the short time we have with them, leave huge footprints in music for us to learn from, and it's important to carry these lessons forward to the next generation of musicians everywhere.

As a BONUS, don't forget to hang around until the end to check out the evolution of Keith's drum kits through the years.

Finally a video about Keith’s drumming and not just his lifestyle. Thanks!

If you watch Keith's face in the studio, onstage while he's playing... He's not anything but deadly serious... He played like it was life or death, the entire band was like that. Nobody else could stand up to that.

The Who, my favorite band since forever, I bought my first reel to reel recorder when I was 18 and started collecting reel to reel tapes of my favorite groups. I have two high end reel to reels and cherish my Who reel to reel tapes. You haven't lived until you listen to Tommy and Qaudrophenia on reel to reel factory tapes. My son grew up listening to my music library and ended up loving The Who. His friends would ride him about him having an oldie station on his car radio. Not many 17 year old kids in the mid eighties knew all the song lyrics from the 60's. His favorite line from The Who is, meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Kids today get introduced to 60's music on YouTude via recommended songs to listen to and are blown away by how good the music was. I got hooked on The Who, when Magic Bus came out and loved them ever since.

1978 "Oi, Keef! 'Ow many drums dya want for this album?" Moonie "Yes."
  • @ZEST123
I’ve been playing Keith Moon style drumming since about 1978 when I was introduced to Keith Moon’s playing from The Who By Numbers album. You are one of the better examples of demonstrating the beauty of Keith Moon’s drumming and musicality. I applaud you for this awesome expose! Thank you for honouring my drumming hero and biggest drumming influence! R.I.P. Keith Moon ❤️🥁❤️
  • @TheA1Drummer
THAT WAS A FANTASTIC VIDEO. THANK YOU GUY! You are an amazingly gifted drummer as well!!
  • @chucklana161
My hero - Keith Moon. He does have Gene Krupa vibes! WOW I'm 53, and never noticed that
  • @BADD400
I didn’t understand Keith when I was younger, but I as I got older and really listened to Keith and was like wow he is great. He really played what he felt. Glad I realized how great he was.

Thank you for the tribute to Keith. (also thanks for reminding me of Hammerheads on Long Island)
  • Great review and analysis of Keith Moon's drumming! I was skeptical at first but you totally earned my respect for your deep knowledge understanding and appreciation for Moon's work. Thanks so much!!
  • @timcloutier3729
Excellent breakdown of Keith Moon. He had his own sound and style. When you thought you had Keith figured out with his drum patterns, he'd switch it up. He truly was truly unique. 🤘🏻❤️🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁❤️🤘🏻

That's the best content on Moon I've seen, awesome job !
  • @user-vb5xn7ok2l
Far & away the best doco on Keith I've seen. Must have been a labor of love to put so much together. Thank you so much. I was very lucky to have been taken to see The Who as my 1st live concert in about 1967. The Small Faces & Paul Jones were the support acts. I was 15 at the time, & will never forget it. 😀👍👍👍
  • @johnnymossville
So happy to see a drummer of your caliber talk about keith this way. Personally I can't understand why some drummers are so against the kind of drumming keith did. His playing fit the band perfectly and I can't imagine any other kind of drummer playing those epic songs.

What a wonderful, refreshing look at Mooney. Thank you for focusing on his drumming, not his lifestyle. He was more than part of a rock solid rhythm section; he was an essential instrument in the music of The Who. His drumming was like Pete’s guitar - percussive melody. I never tire of hearing him. A great video, thank you!
  • @thomaszilly1286
Thanks for this excellent video. Keith Moon was the best drummer ever. I am glad that I saw him in concert when I was young.
  • @Deano_77
The closest I've seen anyone come close to Keith is a guy called Scott Devours. He played with the who on the Quadrophenia tour in 2013. The videos with him are on YouTube. He's brilliant.

Thank you so much for this. You show his skills and you have presented this documentary in such a respectful way. I LOVE the film of them together towards the end. I was about ten when i used to listen to Tommy. What an amazing pure, free and wild drummer he was. Thank you so much for such a great tribute and explanation of his drumming. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
