NPS crews also began power washing the Freedom Bell, and removing trash from the area, with barriers around the plaza as work continues.
Protests occurred around the city all day Wednesday, but Union Station quickly became a hub of more chaotic demonstrations. 7News cameras captured fires being lit and items being burned around Union Station and elsewhere clashes with police that saw U.S. Capitol Police deploying pepper spray.

    PROSECUTE!!! The federal law that prohibits the destruction of government property is 18 U.S. Code § 1361. This law makes it a felony to intentionally damage or destroy any property of the United States, or any property of a U.S. agency or department, or property being constructed for the U.S..     This is not freedom of speech! There are laws restricting the manner in which people can express themselves. Peaceful assembly is allowed, but destruction b a mob is criminal and those who organized this can be charged under RICO.
