The Galaxy Tab S9 FE is a great tablet at a great price, or at least that's what I thought 6 months ago. But has it stood the test of time with new competition out there? And what did you guys say in the comments?

As beautiful as OLEDs look, one important thing to keep in mind about them is PWM, which can trigger headaches and migraines in people. Having good LCD options is still very much a necessity until OLEDs flicker issues are properly fixed. LCD panels have also improved and can be incredible quality too. I have a legion pro laptop and a legion go, and the LCD panels are so beautiful, even if the colours lack the same punch as OLED panels. Just something to be mindful of!

I bought one about a month ago (partially on your recommendation - thanks!) and I love it. I honestly don't use it much for non-drawing purposes, so I can't speak for that, but after trying a few apps, I liked Infinite Painter, paid for the full version, and everythings fantastic. As someone just getting started with digital art from traditional, I found the transition waaaay better than my brief attempts with unscreened drawing tablets, which I just couldn't get used to. My only (v small) complaint would be that drawing does seem to drain the battery faster than I'd expected, but since I tend to get into the zone and draw for many hours in a row, it's not really a problem to have to give it a charge every night to top it up. Still, 10/10 would recommend!

I do agree with Brad on the screens. A 10 inch Tab S8 (that I own) had a LCD display and it's a really good panel imo.

I bought my Tab S9 FE at the same time as I bought my S23 FE (it was time to upgrade my phone and tablet so I got it out the way while both were having good sales) I'm extremely happy with both a few months in. The Tab S9 FE will probably slow down in a few years time at most but that's probably when I'll upgrade anyway and as of right now I love the display (it may not be OLED but it is an EXCEPTIONAL LCD displa), the speakers sound great despite not being quad, it runs everything I need to quickly and of course the S-Pen is still amazing.

Thanks Brad. The G Tab S9 FE 4 me is a good secondary device when I am on the Go. It is a hassle to breakout my Laptop, this device is smaller & easier to get to when I am on Public Transportation. I can check Email, edit a Document & Spreadsheet.

Me and the wife always look at new product releases as an opportunity to get a discount on the current/previous year models especially the high end version. So we went with a great Black Friday special on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra (256gb) this past year for the same price as the base S9

Got the smaller version few months and it's an absolute banger. I mainly use it for drawing and as a second monitor. Also got Notepaper cover for christmas and it feels wonderful with hard plastic s-pen tips

Finally just ordered one. My Lenovo Tab 11 Plus is still running great, but only has 4GB and with larger drawings I can notice the slowdown. I've looked at the newer Lenovo P12 or P11 Pro Gen2, but they've changed the pens from AES2 to MPP2 protocol and I really don't want those. They've got wobble. It's a step down. An older TAB S7 or S8 could be an option, but since the S9 FE with 8GB memory and 256GB storage was on sale at one store for less than a used/refurbished older model, I decided to go the S9 FE. Just ordered it on Brad's recommendation 🙂 For me the pen is more important than the cpu/gpu. I don't have an issue with a TFT screen, my current one has it too and it's beautiful. Can't wait until it arrives.

Been using this for 3 months now, the regular FE with 8gb ram, got it as a replacement to my broken mobile studio pro for portable use, and has been loving it ever since. I use clip studio and it can smoothly run my fullsized projects with has a couple hundred layers, feeling just as responsive as my main desktop. Which is frankly kinda impressive.

I just got the FE+ a month or two ago and I friggen love it! I bought a Creator Edition Pen to go with it, and... I had the same issue Mr. Colbow had where the pen would register an input before it even hit the screen. That really frustrated me, lol. After trying a bunch of "fixes" I read around the internet, I just let it sit overnight and...it actually worked fine, then! I LOVE drawing with this thing now, which is strange since I think I still prefer drawing on an old Intuos rather than a screen, but it just feels good! Infinite Painter for 10 bucks/one-time payment is really nice, too. I really don't like the regular S-pen with the rubber tip. I just could NOT get used to it when messing with one on my old S6 lite.

Using S6lite - 1st version (2020 model)... Working great Does my job- take notes, reading books And occasionally media consumption.

Hey Brad between this and the xp pen magic tablet which do you prefer ? Thinking of getting one and would love your input
  • @joshf2379
Thought it would be worth thowing in to the discussion, I'm still using a Samsung Tab S6 Lite (8:36) and it is still working great with krita/clip studio paint and multitasking with splitscreen. Still not noticed it slow down!
  • @inwedavid6919
Hello, nice video, what software do you use to draw? I use the 7 Fe and still be happy with it.
I bought an s9 fe because of your previous video on this tablet. I have to say that I'm super happy with it.
  • @ToliverJay
Got this tab, bumped up the storage, it is now my daily driver. Using the slim keyboard. For what I do I love the battery life, the productivity, and the speed. Does what I need and does it well. Great review.
  • @prathaps848
What is your favorite drawing app that you talked about in this video? Also, is it the same one that you drew the Halloween pumpkins?
  • @shihabrj9921
The real differentiator between oled and lcd is burn in! As an artist you do not want burned inprints on top of your artwork, making it difficult to see where and what you're drawing.
