the only issue i have with ghosts is that they have needs but i feel like they shouldn’t. like what are they gonna do when i starve my ghost sim? kill them??
  • @Kaywireee
I wish Mermaids and Aliens can be expanded in a refresh or something. I know they are expansion pack occults but no reason they can't have more 😗 Also side note seeing your sims boogie it down in the background really makes my day LMAO

I’d love more mermaid spells and skills and to be able to explore underwater with them 😔

Fun fact, Vampires LOVE to drink from Spellcasters, they get a special buff and sparkles although I don't quite remember what it entailed exactly.

As much as I love my spellcasters, I keep genuinely forgetting my sim is an actual occult sim because they don’t do anything different beyond the basic spells. Like my spellcaster sim, why doesn’t she levitate the knife or mixing spoon when she cooks? Why doesn’t she levitate a book when she’s reading it, or when she goes to check herself out in the mirror why doesn’t she float slightly off the ground and twirl herself? When she’s angry why doesn’t she have a more aggressive spell casting animation? When she lights a fire why doesn’t she do it with magic? The amount of times I genuinely forget she’s an occult because she still does everything the same way despite HAVING MAGIC is funny to me

The vampire pack turned the Sims 4 into one of my favorite vampire games. Lots of vampire games have you basically be any other video game protagonist but with a blood meter you have to fill by occasionally killing an enemy by feeding instead of just stabbing/shooting them and maybe avoid sunlight if they even bother with a day/night cycle. The Sims 4 gives you tons of vampire powers, but you still need to deal with a world that isn't catering to your specific needs: The sun is an extremely limiting factor for many things if don't have the immunity power, if you feed by force you need to identify isolated targets, you still need to make friends to fulfill social needs but you will outlive mortal friends if aging is on and can end up spending a lot of time mourning them after a while. It may not exactly be difficult, but dealing with all these kinds of things makes me feel like an actual nocturnal bloodsucking parasite trying to manage life amongst mortals.

I think the problem a lot of people have with spellcasters is that they are basically an in-game form of cheating. They don't have to worry about needs after they are able to brew Potion of Plentiful Needs, which is like the first or second potion you learn while experimenting on a cauldron (and only need a couple of apples to make) and they can do all of their stuff with no downsides. Vampires have to pick weaknesses and are naturally weak to the sun. Spellcasters are prone to get cursed but they are able to get rid of those as either a potion or spell. That's what seemed to be the big complaint on the other videos I have watched on casters but I could be wrong
  • Fun fact: A Spellcaster can kill a Sim by setting the floor directly underneath them on fire. Remember to have the Spellcaster leave and lock the door!

One thing that was annoying about werewolves is that for some reason, witches can't cast spells on them when they're raging. Feels terribly unjust Greg can beat the bejesus out of your witch but they can't set him on fire for it.
  • I can't with them randomly dancing 😂 your sims are iconic ✨

That's a tier list based on how much you like the occult, and I get that. For actual gameplay comparison, my own personal take on it would be very different. Top Tier Spellcaster: spellcasters are utterly broken. They can bypass the entire game, ignore the Need system, easily become immortal forever and literally ignore every bad thing that can possibly happen in the Sims. Spellcasters can be summarized as: "you don't need cheats with them, but you'll feel like you're cheating, anyway". High End Vampire: does it take a long time to build up a skill for moneymaking? I wouldn't know, I've maxed it out while being awake for two entire seasons straight because Vampire Energy is perfectly balanced. I only went to sleep because I like to see the coffin animation, and the entire sleep lasted about 2 minutes, so I guess it's back to painting for three consecutive days. Okay Werewolf: they're cool - they're just not good at the actual gameplay and have no real advantages except for maybe brawling with other Sims. They have an easier time handling Hunger if they Hunt (free meat), but their curses and debilitations can make it harder to engage in other activities. Going nuts every weak and breaking stuff or attacking Sims is fun - but can also be a problem if you care about that kind of thing. They also look like people in furry suits rather than big scary monsters - but it's the Sims, so what did we expect? Not exactly Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Bad Ghost: ghosts are just normal Sims with a couple of unique interactions that are basically just memes. Illogically, they have all the normal Needs that normal Sims have - so they still have to go to the bathroom and take showers, even though they are undead, incorporeal entities from the beyond. I don't even remember if they're at least immortal, but that seems like a small consolation prize. Alien: they're just normal Sims with an alternate skin, which is basically just an outfit that also includes a separate face and body. Otherwise, they have a couple of memes in Mischief interactions that lead nowhere and that's actually it. In fact, you're more prone to bad moodlets from "getting discovered", which doesn't mean much other than being annoying.

Everyone is scared of the werewolves which is stupid. I dont think other occult's should be running around in fear of werewolves, it dont make sense. Even bonehilda and haunted ghosts of paranormal pack is scared of werewolves, just silly to me. No other sims occults should be scared of them to me, only regular sims should be.

If you have the Halloween Stuff pack, you can dress your spell caster up as a traditional witch (pointed hat etc…). I made Tia Dalma (sea witch from Pirates of the Caribbean) with an evil trait along with a mod that allows your magical spells to kill other sims and I must say, it was pretty entertaining.

I feel very addressed by this video because I love occults in the sims series. Sims 4 has some cool occults but also disappoints in some regards. I'm disappointed by aliens, they are just a tiny bit better than the ones in TS2 (where they are just normal sims but with alien eyes and green skin) although there was so much potential for them to be more fleshed out and to give them more special abilities or make other sims actually react to some other sim being an alien. It's also a pity the plant sim seems to be only temporarily which is a shame. I always loved my plant sims and growing a plant sim baby in TS3 is awesome. I miss witches and fairies alike in TS4. The vampire pack is rather well done and I'm also a bit disappointed by the lack of werewolf interaction with dogs. Again, much wasted potential. Anyway, I enjoyed this video very much.
  • yes, do that! ranking every occult from every Sims would be difficul and time-consuming but I'd love to see that! please 🥺
  • @KarmiJooJ
It would be actually cool to have a Demons and Angels occult. Like, if a sim dies of a fast death It turns into a Ghost, but if It dies of a slow and painful death, It can be summoned as a Demon or Angel. I mean, that would be pretty cool.
  • @mlem6951
Realm of magic is my absolute favorite~. The thing about ghost what always bothered me, is that they are just Humans ... When you add them to youre family, they have the same needs and yeah, are just basic humans. It's kind of boring xx.
  • @TimeturnerJ
It's a shame, because thematically and appearance-wise, the aliens have always been my favourite occult. They feel like they should have so much going for them. But yeah, it's true - their actual gameplay options are sadly almost non-existent. Even I have to admit that.
  • @LeounVEVO
Omg we didn't know we needed this, and thank you for ranking the occults
  • @bellazplays
Just popping in to say You're a freaking awesome soul, Satch. 😂💚 and it was really hard to focus on what you were saying because of the Sims dancing all the time!🤣
