  • I like the symmetry between the names of Zoro and Sanji's mothers (Terra = Earth; Sora = Sky). Zoro, Son of the Earth Sanji, Son of the Sky Jinbei, Son of the Sea The Three Commanders of Sun God Luffy
  • I don't mind that Zoro's familiy tree wasn't included in the story, as he doesn't care about it. But I would have liked to see him visit Ryuma's grave, as I have been wainting for this since Triller Bark was first published.

Can't praise the artist behind the character drawings enough. It's insane how fast and they're being created and how good they are.

There was an interesting point about Zoros heritage mentioned by Tekking that could have been the way to tie it into the main story of Wano. Zoro would likely be the heir to Ringo so you could have had a conversation with someone (Hyogoro maybe) revealing this and asking Zoro if he would take up his rightful place as Daimyo only for him to refuse in favour of travelling with Luffy
  • On one of the panels where Kid is gathering scrap metal for his fight against, I believe it was Big Mom, the Pokemon Meltan is seen as part of the metal objects. Oda later confirms that he included it because he really liked the creature, so Oda might be a Pokemon Fan as well :D
  • Tashigi could be a descendant of another Wano traveller, explaining her resemblance to Kuina, as well as Ipponmatsu, which would make it likely that Yubashiri, his most valuable sword, also came from Wano.
  • About the latter members of the Straw Hat's knowledge of the earlier events in the crew's existence, I think it's worth to point out that Nami did keep a logbook of the crew's adventures at least until Arabasta. Since no events in that arc seemingly would prompt her to stop writing the logbook (and they probably emptied the Merry of their belongings, including the logbook, by the time it was taken by Franky during the Aqua Laguna at Water 7, so it's difficult to imagine it burned with the ship during it's funeral), it's reasonable to assume Nami kept writing the logbook up until now and thus it's also reasonable to assume members like Franky, Brook and Jimbei could have had time to go through it to catch up with the crew's past.

Remember the whole deal with Tashigi being VERY similar to Kuina back then which sparked many over the top theories. I just thought of something which would make a lot of sense. The recent sbs stated that 25 Shimotsuki members sailed from Wano. After they saved a village from mountain bandits in the east blue, only 10 members decided to settle thus founding the Shimotsuki Village. After reading it again, I thought to myself, "What happened to the other 15?". That's when I thought about the possibility that Tashigi might be descended from one of the 15 Wano immigrants who didn't settle in Shimotsuki Village. This theory would make a lot of sense and would explain her uncanny resemblance with Kuina. She's basically a long distance relative. It'd also add to how she's very knowledgeable on almost every famous sword.

I personally like the fact that Oda didn't put an uno reverse card on the effects of the smile fruits. Firstly because I like the idea of Momo turning Wano in a country full of joy, where people don't care about eating the smile fruits, because they don't want to cry anyway. Secondly because I feel like getting just rid of the effects of the smile fruits negates some of the impact, Kaido and Orochi had on Wano, which makes the story more impactful (Like in avatar, when the fire nation is defeated it's not like everything is how it was, the airbenders are still gone and it will take time to heal this wound). Thirdly, because even though smile fruits are not something I'd want to be exposed to, it's not like the effect is that detrimental, even if you've eaten a smile fruit it's not like you're unable to feel sadness, you just can't express it in a regular way, but unlike mutilation or brainwashing there's no real physical or mental detriment involved (unless you're an actor or something).
  • Dang, Zoro as Baby Beel is so on point with his "King of Hell" schtick
  • @deadcool3227
Shame that we don't get more about Zoro's parents at least, but it is understandable. I imagine that if did get a Law style flashback then it would have probably been Zoro witnessing his father's death, in which he loses both of his arms and so grabs a sword in his mouth to mortally wound the last pirate; and before he was killed he would say "wounds on the back are a swordman's greatest shame"
  • 10:48 There was an episode in the Anime just before Camie's appearance where Brook found the log book about the Straw Hat Pirate's adventures and read it. I'm not sure if it's canon or not but that was my answer for how the newer Straw Hats got to know about their stories.
  • @KingJokR
knowing how Ushimaru looks, it's clear to see Zoro got his looks from his father's side of the family and his hair probably from his mother or grandfather.

For the part where "if the older members does know every adventures during East Blue" Yeah, I believe they do know, since Nami, always keeps writing on their journal, ever since. She may not be shown to be doing it right now, but it was stated before, and even other pirate crews keep their own journals of adventures, like Oden. And I think if I remember it correctly, that it was stated also post Thriller Bark that Brook was reading their adventures through the Journal.

I am really happy that the smiles didn't get fixed. A lot of times in fiction when a character becomes disabled he gets "fixed" almost the episode later. There is always a robot or demon arm, or they learn to see with magic or the force or mutant abilities or so on. I am really happy one piece lets disabled people exist for the most part, good examples being kidd and shanks, who lost their arms and are not getting it back.
  • The problem with Zoro's lineage is that Oda kept hinting at it. Why did he have to tease it and wink like there's something important there, making us expect a flashback if he didn't intend to follow up on it? If you set up something, you should commit to it. If you don't want to commit to something, then simply don't set it up! It's not the community building expectations out of nowhere and bekng disappointed when they go unfulfilled, it's that we were made to expect something that was never going to happen.

the pacing of Wano is a good example of why people say "One Piece is both Too Long and Too Short" Kaido didn't need a whole lot of backstory prior to running into the Rocks pirates, and going into depth with the Rocks Pirates at that moment would've been too 'spoilery' (people were likely hoping for more Rocks stuff through Kaido, but didn't get it and are complaining about it indirectly).
  • Man, your script and EDITING are TOP NOTCH!!! You're one of the best OPtubers ever! Much respect from Brazil, bro!
  • @poketall2
In a filler, after Thriller Bark, Brook found Nami's Log Book and read about their adventures in East Blue
