If you’re starting from 0, and you have no experience, it’s kind’ve like going on a cross-country road trip, you don’t just get in the car and drive, you need to plan out where you’re going, what you’re excited to see, what music you’re listening too, and most importantly… what snacks you want to bring.
If you didn’t do any of this, you’d end up bored, aimless, and starve to death… coincidentally that is the 3 main things that happen to new streamers.
To avoid this, I created a plan, specifically a Content Map.
by that I mean, you need to understand who your audience is, what they love, and then you need to stream with the idea of making content for Tik tok, Yt shorts, instagram, full youtube videos, and any of the thousands of other platforms.

How To Grow On Twitch?
If you want to grow your Twitch stream, it is important to be critical. Being critical isn’t a bad thing, people say, “Oh don’t be so critical of yourself!”.
But there are a lot of things you can control and improve, such as your visuals, audio, and most importantly your content that you’re creating. Watch back your VoD and be honest with yourself, is it up to scratch. Does your mic sound good? Are you engaging? Is it easy to watch and enjoy or is there something that is off-putting? Be honest, push yourself to grow, and become a better entertainer!
Because at the end of the day, the only way you are going to grow your stream is by growing yourself and being critical in a positive way.

What Bitrate And Settings Should I Use For Streaming?
The easiest way to understand bitrate is by calling what it actually is, your upload speed to the Twitch servers.
Now you’ll need a higher bitrate depending on how high quality you want your stream to be, this means 1080p 60 frames per second will need a bitrate of 6000, which roughly equals 6megabits upload speed on your end being taken up
By lowering your resolution and framerate, you can make it a lot easier to stream, for example, if you set your base canvas size to 1920x1080, but change your output to 1280x720 otherwise known as 720p you drop down to only needing a bitrate of 4500 or 4.5megabits.
If you still want 1080, you can even just lower your framerate from 60fps to 30fps and then adjust to 4500bitrate.

Step 5 hits hard. I've always loved telling stories and saw streaming as an avenue to express it. The more I get into it the more I love it but I can admit growth has been slow. But hearing "content gets you growth, streaming is the "win/fun" part of it" puts it in the correct perspective. GOING LIVE is the win, everything else is to make that win taste so much sweeter. Good job and love the videos. I know I can kill it and its content like this rthat renforces it over and over.

If I had to give a presentation on the fly with out any prep, it would be on anything nursing, or from the concept of games, healing and healthcare. Just completed nursing school so I get easily interested about anything healing in games. Your videos have always been really helpful and i was streaming for a while, (couple months), everyday trying to hit affiliate…and never accomplished my goal, even being soooo close one thing killed me; and that was average viewers, it sucked i was sooo close; and didnt know a good way of hitting it and this video makes me want to try again ❤️💯 (dont know if youd pop in at times) but my twitch is the same as my yt; really appreciate your videos and the way you help others

I'm so happy I came across this video. I've seen hundreds of videos all which say just start streaming, be crazy, be insanely good at gaming. But this one really does inform about all the different things we can be doing before we even start streaming wish I found this sooner.

I stream at least 3 times a week. But for the last two weeks ive had time to stream almost every day and ive slowly been moving into a niche. Skyrim is just too much fun to play on stream. With the lore, glitches, and bugs. And the gameplay in it of itself is amazing. And thats with out mods! Thanks for the videos you make. Theyve been super helpful.

LOVE your content as always. finally making the livestream switch from Twitch to Youtube, because of the discoverability. Some of my audience isn't keen about the switch, but I have to do what's right for me. I love the advice about having a niche. I didn't do that when I started Twitch, but now I specifically play horror based games, so that I can edit those down into scare compilations!
