Businesswoman and actress Priscilla Presley has discussed her relationship with the late singer and actor Elvis Presley, following the release of Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ biopic.

Ms Presley married the music icon in 1967 and the pair divorced after six years of marriage.

“We had a great relationship,” Ms Presley told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.

“Everything just seemed to be more relaxed, more at home, when the tension wasn’t there.

“We were better not married.”

  • She's right Elvis wasn't racist these ppl who say he was have no idea ,this man respected all, I'm glad Priscilla said that, 👍everybody wanted a piece of Elvis ❤
  • I love how she still protects his memory. She did an excellent job answering questions.

I’m 49 years old from Europe Bulgaria. In my Country we all love Elvis and I'm sure all over the world they love him too. I just watched the movie in one sitting and I'm still deeply moved. Greetings to all his fans wherever you are in the world.

I’m glad she spoke out. It is crazy, we are living in very strange times. Unless we start speaking out instead of shutting down, it’s going to get worse.

Surprised she spoke out about politics and the shape the US is in. Good for her

Why does he interrupt her when she’s trying to answer a question he just asked her? I find it very sad and so many people do it
  • Elvis never forgot his roots. He likes to spend money, and one of the ways he did that was helping other people, especially from his community/locally.

Very good interview. She is awake and aware what's going on. Too many are brainwashed sleepers. Thank you Priscilla.

He was my hero at 14. At 80 he is still the best singer ever. I loved his range from rock and roll to gospel. ❤️
  • Priscilla was right on about what's going on now in our world good for her, to be cognizant of that. Good answer smart lady👍
  • What a Classy interview. Can tell she meant every word she said and still holds him dear. Ms Presley still looks great.
  • "In the Getto" is one of my favorite, so honest, true, pure. Makes me cry. Elvis was my mom's favorite when she was a teenager. My dad was nice enough to take my mom to see him in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 70's. She was really glad to get to see him after all that time had passed and came home crying from the concert so grateful to have gotten to go.

Thumbs up to you Priscilla- thank you for speaking out about the state of this country- I am in tears, and proud of you my lady!
  • Not enough credit is given to this special forward thinking lady who has kept his memory alive and thriving Graceland business for the fans and her daughter Lisa Marie, I'm glad Elvis's music is reborn for a new generation to listen to and learn what charisma he had on stage such a generous giver worked so hard 2 shows a night for months on end in Vegas , always on my mind is my favourite song long live the king x
  • She’s right - our fathers, grandfathers, those good men before us would never believe it!!! It’s a mess and a shame!!!!!!
  • Priscilla is the classiest and still gorgeous woman. Bravo for honestly speaking out. I see why Elvis loved her so much. However if Piers would only let Priscilla answer and finish talking without interrupting her this would have been a perfect interview.

I always admired the beauty of this woman and also her personality. Congratulations to Elvis who knew how to choose the right person.

I definitely think Austin Butler did an amazing job playing Elvis - he looked as close to Elvis as any actor could have. Amazing job.

My grandma introduced me to Elvis when I was 13-14 and I immediately fell in love. That man does something to me… can’t even try to explain. Deeply in love with him and his soul. I’ve read all the books, own all his songs, and movies. I’ve also toured Graceland twice. I’m such an Elvis fan I actually had an impersonator for my 16th birthday. This movie had me feeling everything all at once. I laughed, and of course cried. I actually had to sit after the movie and recap.
