America's First Full-Size Electric Truck | 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning EV Pickup!

2021-09-15に共有
Rivian might have the first EV pickup in America, but it looks like Ford will beat everyone to the full-size game and certainly be the first "affordable" full--sized EV if the new Hummer beats it to market. With up to 563 horsepower, max payload of 2,000 pounds and 10,000 pounds of trailering when properly equipped, this should also be one of the most capable trucks in America... As long as you don't need to drive more than 230 miles in the base model, 300 miles in the big-battery model when empty and likely considerably less when fully loaded towing a trailer...

  • The smaller wheels are fine, cost less to replace worn out tires. The backup power system is ingenious and very useful.
  • @MadMadOne
Alex is slowing easing up and showing his fun side lately. 👍
  • Here in CA a HUGE selling point for contractors-----employees in the HOV lane legally!. I lose so much time with guys tuck in traffic that this is a true deal-breaker for a work truck
  • Glad to see Ford keeping some physical buttons and switches. Everything being done through the touchscreen can be a turn off for people.
  • @sparcnyan
Honestly really in love with the base model one. One of my hugest gripes and why I don’t like most EV’s is way too much technology / screens / digital buttons. The base model one looks like what’s going to get me to buy my first EV, looks nice
  • 4:12 - The range stated on the Lightning DOES include 1,500 lbs of payload. If empty, you could get longer range.
  • Excellent. I hope Ford makes the F-150 Lightning in huge numbers. I have no doubt that demand will outstrip supply.
  • @ktl2001
Need to open up the ext battery range on the pro model for consumer! XLT with extend range is like in the 60K range.
  • THANK YOU for finally giving the pro model some airtime! Seems like everyone else is just focused on the 90,000$ trim 😂
  • I wish there was a front bench seat. Love the vinyl floors, price, 4 wheel drive, small rims and thicker tires, rear seat area, hp and torque. love it.
  • @fatwajim
I reserved one as well. Alex, I think you mis-spoke regarding the rated range. You said the range was based on not towing, no payload, etc. I’ve heard from many other videos that the rated range is assuming 1,000lbs in the bed. So if you are unloaded, you’ll get even more range. I can’t wait to get one!
  • This is the best of all worlds for farmer-contractors like me. With incentives and rebates: looking like $27k, with an 8 year 100k mile warranty. Reminds me of 90s/00s Ford trucks at their best: Not overly complicated. Not $80k. No stupidly fancy, Delorean-esque, exotic stainless steel body to repair when the Tesla truck gets beat up by debris, rocks and accidental equipment predicaments.
  • Love how this quick look is with the base model. I preordered and That’s the version I’m choosing, even though every other vehicle I’ve bought has been fully loaded
  • I really hope it's a smash hit for Ford. Alex, you are THE MAN for actually buying vehicles here and there and doing long term tests with them. I also appreciate that the last few have been EV's because I'm never going back to an ICE vehicle as my daily driver. Many thanks!
  • @Dave-Cruz
Well spoken and succinctly delivered. Good work Alex!
  • Best lightning video I’ve seen so far by a long shot.
  • @R3dN3cK
Glad you showed the Pro model. That's the model I'm most interested in. Probably my next truck!
  • Ford has a real winner on its hands. The Vehicle to Load capability is a huge draw, especially people who live in Hurricane country, or places like California or Texas with unstable power grids. This bodes well for an Expedition EV somewhere down the line.
  • Great video - first time looking at the Pro model -originally wanted to order the XLT trim, but now looking at the Pro. Thanks for the quick tour!
  • THIS is how a car review should be done. Alex is a clear, concise communicator minus any of the antics that some reviewers use.
