With Jeff it's always 3 am and all hearts are broken forever.
-
She’s the tear that hangs inside my soul forever.
-
I just discovered this guy ten minutes ago and his music has touched me like no other before
-
I feel physical pain in my chest when I listen to this. One of the most powerful songs ever.
-
I listened to this song a lot the months following my wife's death. The entire album, actually. Every time I hear "it's never over.. she's a tear that hangs inside my soul forever..." I lose it. Like just now.
-
I've been listening to this song for literally 10 years and I'm still not over it

Jeff Buckley had so much to give this world. He'd only just gotten started. His death was such a huge loss for the music industry and humanity in general. This song is beyond beautiful..the lyrics break my heart.
-
You have no idea how many nights I have cried to this song.
-
It's hard to love someone better than this song.

"It's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when I sleep so soft against her... It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter It's never over, she is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever" Best verse of all time

Society: Men aren’t in touch with their emotions... Jeff Buckley: Hold my Lilac Wine...

Lyrics [Verse 1] Looking out the door I see the rain Fall upon the funeral mourners Parading in a wake of sad relations As their shoes fill up with water Maybe I'm too young To keep good love from going wrong But tonight you're on my mind So you never know [Verse 2] Broken down and hungry for your love With no way to feed it Where are you tonight, child You know how much I need it Too young to hold on And too old to just break free and run [Verse 3] Sometimes a man gets carried away When he feels like he should Be having his fun And much too blind to see The damage he's done Sometimes a man must awake To find that really, he has no-one So I'll wait for you, and I'll burn Will I ever see your sweet return Oh, will I ever learn? [Chorus] Oh lover, you should've come over Cause it's not too late [Verse 4] Lonely is the room, the bed is made The open window lets the rain in Burning in the corner is the only one Who dreams he had you with him My body turns and yearns For a sleep that won't ever come It's never over My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder It's never over All my riches for her smiles When I slept so soft against her It's never over All my blood for The sweetness of her laughter It's never over She's the tear that hangs Inside my soul forever Well maybe I'm just too young To keep good love from going wrong [Chorus] Oh... Ohh... Ohhhhh... Ohhhhhh... Ohh..... lover, you should've come over Yes, yes, I feel too young to hold on And I'm much too old to break free and run Too deaf, dumb, and blind To see the damage I've done Sweet lover, you should've come over Oh, love well I'll wait for you Lover, lover, lover Lover, lover, lover, lover, lover, lover Lover, lover, lover you should've come over Cause it's not too late

My god, how does he capture the crippling desperation of heart ache so effortlessly? And the same heart ache we now feel for him. There have been many red wine tears to this song at 3am around the world! Cheers to you Jeff, I wish you could have lived to remain in our lives for much much longer. Peace brother.

Who broke his heart like this...he was such a melancholic angel :(
-
She’s a tear line might be the greatest lyric ever written. If you’ve felt it you know
-
This song always has, and always will blow my mind. It's intensity just builds and builds. When it feels too much it keeps going, until you're utterly lost in its beauty. This truly is transcendent, for me anyway lols, but I doubt I'm alone here on the internet... But then again I am drunk, and too often listening to Jeff whilst drunk and alone...

It's not just a song, this is a piece of true art. How beautiful and poetic lyrics are, that sound from Jeff's angelic voice, everything in this song is perfect. This song means a lot to me, I can feel and understand his pain when he sings it, because I experienced familiar feelings. I can't imagine how many masterpieces he could have written, if he was alive.

This is one of those rare songs that I can't get sick of. It's utterly exquisite in every single way, and a great example of Jeff's immaculate talent.

This has got to be one of the best songs of all time
