Not just the Girl Scouts. I had a friend who went to the YWCA as a kid. She says there was one woman who seemed to keep more than an eye out for the girls. Guys tend to do this more often but I think it is severely underreported among females.

Imagine how full the courts were IF every child told on people inappropriately touching them

Wow she actually got charged accordingly, that’s a lot of time for molestation. Justice is definitely being served in this case. That child will struggle for the rest of their life.

I tried joining boy scouts as a leader. I asked that all adults go to state police and do finger prints. They refused, they said a child is never left alone with one adult. There will always be two adults and they will be safe. My response, what if both adults are child molesters ? They refused the background check and I refused to join that group. I also made it a point the background check only protects all of us. The walked away and never looked back. Years later, I hear this.

How could any decent person plead for leniency for such an atrocious crime, regardless of a close relationship with the perpetrator?

This happened to me and it caused so much confusion and negative feelings inside me for my life. Mine occurred over 40 yrs ago, and it never has been something I could overcome, even with years of counseling. It really ruined my life.

Judge says she robed her of trust. Yes, and that alone robs her of a more normal life. Social and personal relationships forever undermined, changed!
