NEVER Buy A Car From A Dealership

My name is Brandon and I am a used car dealer. I created Car Questions Answered to share the ins and outs of the used car market from my perspective. I share with you updates on car prices, what's happening at the dealer auctions, and what it's like being a dealer. My goal is to share information to help you make the best decisions while buying a car to save you money. I do not want car dealers taking advantage of you.

I gave my kids $1000 towards their first car. My daughter bought a $400 Corolla and used the $600 left for tires and parts. She and I did all the work (fluid changes, plugs, wires, brakes, and thermostat replacement. She learned a lot from that experience and we had a blast bonding. She drove it for 3.5 years then sold it for $800

For those who are 1st time viewers, Brandon is trying to change a small portion of how used cars are sold… and that’s transparency…. It’s refreshing to hear and his shared info is interesting to watch…. One man’s opinion….thanks

Having just purchased a used car, I can say it was one of the most difficult experiences I have been through for a long time. All the cars from dealers had something wrong with them that was readily apparent, even to a 77 year old great-grandmother like me. The doc fee was $300 in our area but when I went looking in a nearby state, I found that the doc fee was between $600-$1000! I couldn't believe it. So I went on Facebook Marketplace and found a great car that passed my complete checklist and drove extremely well. It was $500 below book and with the non-existent doc fee, $800-$1300 cheaper than buying from a dealer. The owner told me the dealer he used for the maintenance and I got a 13 page printout of all the maintenance and the car had been very well maintained, including the 60,000 mile transmission service. I will never again go to a dealer!

Nothing forces dealerships to be shady…they choose to be shady.

I've had old used cars my whole life and the only advice I can give is: Make sure you can do at least the simple work yourself because you WILL be replacing things all the time.

You don’t charge a doc feed??? Unreal! You are a rare dealer. Bless you!

Title should say never buy a car from a SHADY dealer…..which is 98% of them. I need to buy a solid used car….where are you located at. You’ve earned my business.
  • I don’t live anywhere close to you but want to buy a car from you. Trust is something that is hard to get nowadays. Keep making these videos please :)
  • I just bought a used truck. I had 2 requirements before I fully engaged. 1. All negotiating would be done remote 2. It had to be via email or txt. 95% of the dealers just kept calling to get me to come into the office (Had a lot of voicemails to keep deleting). Life is busy, I am on the phone all day for MY work - and do not have time to drive 1-2 hours, was another couple hours and find out we're not going to make a deal anyway. 2 dealers participated, 1 gave me a reasonable out the door price and I went and bought the truck. The dealer always wins, but I refuse to have my time wasted by going in-store when it's 2024 and they/we have methods to do email and/or text messaging.
  • Dude you’re honest and that’s good I would buy a car from you.however your pissing off some of these mom and pop dealers.most car buyers especially the younger buyers don’t know the truth
  • @BrettShuffler
I have a Honda and it's paid off and it's the greatest feeling not having a payment
  • @savtelly3817
Most people aren’t negotiating because they’re just happy to be qualified for financing and feel like they have no leverage in my opinion. I’ve been buying in cash and I do feel more in control now.
  • My wife and went to purchase a new car, to us, I ask what the best price they would be willing to sell the car for. When we decide to buy then comes out all the additional cost. We decided to wait and look for one from a private seller. It’s no fun buying a car.

Just bought a used car at auction after following you and caredge for a while and realizing that there really isn't that much reduced risk to buy from a dealer. Ended up paying about 60% of what similar cars are going for at dealers and the car is running fantastic!
  • We as consumers should refuse to pay doc fees. My last new car I bought they said everyone pays doc fees. I told them not me. 1 hour later they called me back, and said we will wave the doc fees. If they didn't do that, then I wouldn't have bought from them period.

If you’re buying cars from a dealership, new, or used. I will pray for you! I currently work in the industry, and yes a lot of shady things go down.
