I love that you are sharing your story as an adult! As an SLP I learned a lot about childhood apraxia of speech, and how to treat it in childhood. But not as much about what it looks like for that individual as that child grows up, and how they go about their lives. Thank you for being you! šŸ˜Šā¤
  • Iā€™m so glad I found you, my grandson was diagnosed with Apraxia age 2, heā€™s almost about to turn 5 now.

My little brother has Apraxia, and this helps, because when he is in a situation, he gets more frustrated than other people in that situation, and heā€™ll just block out everything but how mad he is. A funny story is he was doing speech therapy evaluation and they were doing stuff like ā€œwhatā€™s the opposite of coldā€ and ā€œwhatā€™s the opposite of bigā€. One of the things she asked was ā€œwhatā€™s the opposite of heavyā€ He thought she said ā€˜whatā€™s the opposite of heavenā€™ and he replied with ā€œHELL. WITH THE DEMONSā€
  • Jordan can I ask whether you used to exhibit stimming behaviors as a 4 year old when you wanted to speak? My sim has been seeing an slt for over a year and they still wonā€™t commit to a diagnosis. Your videos have been inspirational
  • Jordan, thank you for the video! So helpful! If Apraxia hits and my son cannot say a word.. I usually say ā€œletā€™s try againā€.. what would you say in this situation? TIA
