You nailed it. Chicago loves JF1 not because he’s a phenomenal QB, but because he was fun to watch and was an exceptionally high character man.
  • The whole Pickett trade is hilarious. Pickett: “I want a chance to start so I’m requesting a trade.” Steelers: “Okay, we’ll send you to a team to back up an even better QB.”
  • If the Steelers are smart they will take the pressure off Fields and nurture him like Jordan Love. Justin can be the future.

Happy to see Fields will get a career reboot at a solid, respected franchise after the Bears did nothing to help him starting with Nagy. The Bears are notorious QB destroyers and i can only smh and wish Caleb Williams luck. But maybe the Steelers can give the Bears another 6th rounder for Caleb in 3 years 😂

I see Pittsburgh using him in some packages. Russ will play majority of snaps next year

When a GM moves off their QB on a rookie contract, they want that QB to fail or the GM will look stupid if that QB plays well on a new team. The GM will not think about compensation, he's thinking about saving his sorry ass from looking bad.

I have watched every game Fields has played in, and I will say besides holding onto the ball too long, not reading defenses, missing wide open receivers, and collapsing in the 4th quarter, he is a great QB.

Not sure why everyone's excited. Arthur Smith uses his star players as decoys.

Why is no one talking about Justin fields coming in on gadget plays in the red zone or 3rd down and short or surprise playcalls? Like the Saints do it with Taysom Hill. Could be interesting?
  • @jimlampkins3299
Rooney said the team needed better QB play. Kahn is just giving the boss what he wants.

The biggest gain fields showed this year was a reduction in turnovers. A Career low 2.4% int rate (which should be lower with the bad luck on hail mary's), career low on Turnover Worthy Throw % of 4.3%. Career low Bad Throw % of 16.3%. This is in part due to a reduction in his Average Depth of Target to a career low 8.8 as well as a career high in throw aways at 29. Showing he's doing better at knowing when a Play is dead and not turning a neutral play into a bad play. On the flip side he finished with Next Gen Stats worst Expected completion % in the league. 4th worst passer rating in the 4th quarter. And there just isn't a lot of in general improvement from year 1 to year 3. His struggles on intermediate throws as a rookie, that there was some improvement in year 2, came back in year 3. And his reluctance to throw in that range, likely due to the lack of success he's found, remains. He remained the most pressured qb in the NFL between the combination of a mid at best offensive line and his desire to hold onto the ball and lack of anticipation throwing. He lost some of the explosiveness in his legs with fewer big runs. And most of his efficiency numbers didn't improve with the addition of DJ moore.

As a Bears fan, I hope Fields has a good career ahead of him. He’s been dealt such a bad hand. Drafted by the worst team in the league, and whose HC/OC was fired the next year. Bears could never put together a solid Oline and their best receiver was Dante Pettis at one point. Then he gets traded to a backup role under Arthur Smith as his 3rd OC in 4 years.

Finally, people can start having rational conversations about Justin Fields again
  • @angelobarnette
Idc who starts all i know is our QB room improve tremendously.
  • I think Arthur Smith should draw up some plays on 3rd and short to bring Fields in for Rpo plays with his running ability
  • @Bobadak1
As a huge Bears fan I can only express my great displeasure and disappointment with the Bears G.M. You Steeler fans have just been gifted with the most exciting QB in the NFL. Field's made watching a crappy Bears team fun and entertaining. Most Bears fans are still trying to understand the reasoning behind this move. The fans and his teammates all loved him. The media for some unknown reason did not. He never played behind the same offensive line which is why he led the league in sacks. You people will soon witness the magic of Justine Fields and like most Bears fans will wonder what Bears GM Poles was thinking when he dumped him.

Bears fan here. I feel like after training camp the coaches are going to see an ENORMOUS talent gap between Fields and an old version of Russell Wilson. Regardless of all the "veteran leadership, experience" talk that will come with Wilson, The second that Steeler team watches Fields throw a 45 yard fade route on the money and then 2 plays later beat their top Cornerback to the sideline and turn up field for a 20+ yard gain there are going to be A LOTTTT of question marks as to who will be the starter. Fields problem with the bears was quick decision making and pre snap reads both of which can be coached up or solved with a great offensive line or elite receivers. Fields is a top 5 talent in my eyes at QB im not quite sure why the rest of the NFL is was sooooo hesitant on going after him. Dude could easily go for 4500 total yards if he plays a full season.
  • Let's don't make this a competition just let these men go to training camp and make this offense move forward and put points on the board. Remember both Wilson and Fields can play within the system hand the ball off to Najee and Warren throw to keep the chains moving to keep the defense off balanced thru out the game. Putting points on the board will help the defense big time.
  • As a Bears fan who actually watched every game, then game film and breakdowns, he definitely has the talent and leadership to thrive in Pittsburgh. This whole notion that the Bears “failed him” is false though. There were consistent reads that he missed, wide open recievers that he didnt throw the ball to, sacks that he took because of slow processing or running away from the pocket, he held the ball longer than most QBs in the NFL as well. He had a true number one reciever and a great tight end and people are convinced if he had 3 pro bowl WRs and an all pro line, he wouldve been a MVP. Thats true of almost every talented QB ever drafted. He does not raise the ceiling of a team like other franchise QBs which is why nobody traded for him until most jobs were taken. But in the right system, he can thrive.

We gonna have a party.. fields and Russ.....steeler nation on blast.
