For the Joker's tattoos they had some trouble covering up Jared Leto's actual tattoos. Aqauman's tattoos were based around Jason Momoa's pre existing forearm tattoos which is an ode his polynesian heritage

I love that they call the harry potter one scarred up/badly healed because in the books it is a scar if I remember correctly.
