The new VW Multivan is a revolutionary take on Volkswagen's famous MPV, with a bold new look, a plug-in hybrid powertrain and a redesigned, tech-laden interior. It replaces the Caravelle as VW's flagship people mover, but this time it's not based on a van - instead, it uses VW's MQB car platform, which should make it much better to drive than its forebears. We'll have to wait until we get behind the wheel for our full review to find out, though, so be sure to subscribe so you don't miss it.

I wish Skoda would release a utilitarian version with higher quality and a lower cost.

Touch screens suck. Bring back dials and buttons.

The lengths are not SWB and LWB. The Long version has an extended rear overhang. The Long and the Short models' wheelbases are the same.

It is likely to be pretty pricey. In its short form it will be competing with its own in-house Seat Alhambra/Sharan. In long wheel base form, there are so many terrific and affordable van base MPVs already.

I'd consider one that came completely empty except for front two seats, everything manual adjustment, and nothing technical aka "driver assistance". Basic basic basic at less expensive!

It's need a 120 volt electric outlet for use electric appliances in the car, and function of turn on the AC or heater when car is off, like Tesla camping mode. It is a hybrid car, therefore, please put the battery In good use.

Will it still rust and breakdown as much as usual :D
  • @jaysontang
that's a really disappointing exterior, it doesn't capture the fun and excitement of its previous concepts designs, too much of the last square design

Looks like something out of Star Trek il pass thanks
  • They just will not let go of pistons and head gaskets will they.
  • I drove an S Class for the first time ages ago and needed an IT degree just to sort the heating controls. Just give us good old fashioned dials and buttons, hard to use screen when driving. Bet it's very expensive, I'll stick with my T5

I enjoyed watching the Video Review. The best Large Family MPV

So have they deliberately cocked this up, we all love our T4, T5 T6, this seems to be smaller and less good, has anyone said the T5 etc don’t drive well
