Mollie Bihet was a young girl at the outbreak of War and her firsthand experiences paint a picture of life under German rule, from bombings and outwitting the Germans to eventual Liberation and the beginning of the long road to recovery for Guernsey. Today, islanders celebrate their freedom on 9 May, known as Liberation Day.

I'm watching Island At War about the invasion of the Channel Islands & found this insightful video. I can't imagine the pain & anguish these people experienced.
  • I've heard a few stories in the U.S. how people were able to outwit the military draft or conscription during world war 2 by doing innocent things like this. Thanks for sharing.
