Coronavirus (COVID-19) update 23 with Dr. Seheult of www.medcram.com/?utm_source=Youtube&utm_medium=Vid…

The confirmed cases in South Korea appear to have increased significantly due to a "super-spreader" event. Dr. Seheult also discusses mounting confusion about the changing diagnostic criteria, infections in kids and pregnancy, and interesting research on virus spillover from bats to humans.

I am not panicking but I am growing increasingly concerned. It wouldn't be a bad idea to make sure you have basic food stuffs for you and your household for about 2 weeks or more in case there is widespread outbreak and you have to stay in for weeks. Also, having some basic supplies: disposable gloves, n-95 masks, some kind of sealed goggles, and some kind of coverall or even vinyl raincoat and pants plus bleach, 70%+ rubbing alcohol, spray bottles, plastic sheeting, duct tape etc. Also, hydrating liquids with electrolytes.

I'm an intern in Iran ,things are not good ,we don't even have any primary kinds of protections, even surgical masks , no isolations or quarantines and we are expected to work under these conditions, putting our lives in our hands
  • Thanks for these updates. I live in Milan Italy and we are having an outbreak here. So far we have 14 diagnosed. Looks like the outbreak started in a Unilever office. Hasn’t hit news outside of Italy, from what I have seen, but its worth keeping an eye on.

Wait for these everyday. Thank you Doctor.

There is something strange going on. I'm an ICU nurse. I've been dealing with a highly suspect patient coming from outside the country (not china though). Pt is negative for flu and within 2 weeks on ecmo. The hospital resists running the test tooth and nail for no reason i can identify other than the fact that they have not isolated the pt and hundreds if not more could have been exposed if this case comes back positive. Pt has every classic sign and neg for flu. After talking to CDC and many others I get the feeling that regardless of what's said on media, those who know realities consider this a global disease like flu now and are going to deal with the sick as they come as oppose to do what they say they would do as far as testing, quarantine, etc. They only do that for known cases coming in cause media is all in on those cases. NBC reported that 5 cities in US now test everyone who has the symptoms regardless of travel to china; it sounds good but it's not really happening. At least not as wide spread as the report makes it sound. Economy and stability is far more important as always.
  • Could you please speak to the test kits. In the short history of this virus the CDC confirmed their test kits (at least some of them) are faulty. China, Japan and the USA all have spoken of test kit shortage and false test findings. I'm concerned the test kits are not reliable and continue to be in short supply - this does not present as resolved. Reportedly, the five cities in the USA that are to test for the flu and then test for COVID-19 if the flu test is negative - failed to be instituted due to failure of having reliable test kits and failure to have sufficient amounts of text kits. This presents as a major front-line defense failure. Thank you for your educational videos - it's much appreciated.

Please put out another update, this seems to be the only Chanel I know of that puts out accurate information with out spreading panic
  • Thank you for being factual, and not conspiratorial :) I have learned so much by listening to you! :)
  • @knallpistol
Waiting like an addict for all of these 😇

This channel is incredibly valuable. Thank you so much for such clear and factual information. It’s immensely important to educate ourselves and remain as calm and level - headed as possible, which is not easy at a time like this. Thanks to you, there is a place to come where questions are answered without causing catastrophic panic. I’m 18 weeks pregnant with my second child and am desperately trying not to let my fear of the unknown take over. You have helped me reason with myself and that is priceless. I have no doubt you will help many, many others. If only our leaders would take the same approach. Thank you.
