The Maserati 3200GT is objectively not as good as the 4200GT and yet I believe that it is the more desirable car and that it will be higher valued in Future. The very weaknesses that it had at launch have now become strengths.. especially that this is the last Maserati with it's own specific engine. Why The Maserati We Loved to Hate is Now The More Desirable. Why The Maserati We Loved to Hate Is The One To buy.

This 3200GT is for sale, check it out here: www.carandclassic.com/l/C1734275

Hmmm. Would you take this over a sporting Jag? Be interested to hear....

true story about the tail lights.Actually we had designed those taillights for a proposal of a Fiat New Large,a Croma replacement that never went to production.Cantarella liked the idea and told me that he will take those to Giugiaro, that was was developing a Maserati….so I had to design new taillights for our New Large.2-3 years pass, had almost forgot that incident, but here comes the Maserati with those taillights.😂😂😂
  • The 3200 and 4200GTs are underappreciated 90's Giugiaro styling masterpieces. I always had a soft spot for both.

Never been the biggest fan of Maserati in general, but I really like the taillights of this specific car.

So true, the 3200 became a beautiful classic, they don't make them like that anymore. I miss the old school Maserati's.
  • Car experts are a lot like watch experts. It can take them 50 years to identify a good thing ! 👍

I liked the 3200GT, it was a much nicer shape than the older boxy models.

I was brought up in Italy in the 70’s and 80’s and remember drooling over a biturbo with a Missoni interior
  • The 3200GT is truly beautiful looking car, sounds fantastic and is supremely elegant, what's not to like.
  • I have one, had it for a couple pf years now. She drives me absolutely mad sometimes. Yes there are much better gt cars out there...but, she is a Maserati, a beautiful v8 Maserati, and she fulfills her role as a gt perfectly.

That barrel-chested crossplane V8 growl suits Maserati perfectly. Reminds me of the 4.7-litre V8 Ghibli.

I just saw one in my neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia two weeks ago.... silver.... those boomerang rear tail lights still looks nice

had one for 17 years and it's still the most special car i have encountered. Great review.

Best rear lights. Ever. (p.s. the dubbed audio adds to the Italian nature of this video 👍🏻)

I'm an old man, old enough to remember well when the Ghibli and then the Indy and Bora were introduced. Other than the name this doesn't mean Maserati to me. Thanks for a great video here, and best wishes from Texas!

Thanks for the drive, Jack. I never tire of your effortless discussion as you drive no matter the mount. You’ve got a real skill there!

Bought 3200gta for my 40th; Maserati blue and terrible throttle issues. Bought another 3200gta for my 50th. Much better car. Overlooked advantage over the Granturisimo, had a 4.7 mc, is that it’s compact (narrow) and much lighter. Deeply flawed but beautiful. Was a nice partner for my 166 3.0 Alfa.
