To me, DSAF is like the "Tails gets trolled" of the Fnaf community. It's something that started off as just a shitpost, but as the series goes on, it gets progressively better and better, eventually turning into an absolute masterpiece of a series.

Dayshift at Freddy’s has some of that old humor that is just hard not to laugh at considering you KNOW what time it was made

This is why you need to play more than one ending. The REAL reason William changed his name to Dave Miller is so much more emotional than just "so he can continue to do what Henry wanted" the tapes describing how Henry hated the idea of Dave changing his name to his dead sons really hits hard. Dave's pure LOVE for Henry being the reason he can't die as no matter what he can't let go of Henry's dream. Hurts so much knowing William loved him SO much he was willing to change his entire identity to match Henry's sons name only for Henry to LITERALLY steal his organs while he slept to see if it would effect him in anyway.

Honestly when you said that players could do something they wanted to do for a long time I thought you were gonna talk about devouring toy chicas “hot bird ass”. But yes throwing balloon boy out a window was much more desired by fans without a doubt
  • dsaf 1 definitely aged the least well. dsaf 2 has some outdated jokes but does its job well at combining comedy and emotional stories and dsaf 3 completely NAILS the story aspect, due to it not trying to be as funny as the previous games did.

Dave originally didn’t want to go kill children, and felt really bad for doing so, but after he gets springlocked and posses his own corpse, Henry starts doing tests on him by removing parts of his brain, effectively removing his conscience entirely

Ah finally-- someone else who agrees Dave is the best version of William Afton. He's my absolute favourite, and I always have to tell people who are only familiar with it at a surface level "yes really, I mean it" haha
  • @TGirl_Dave
can confirm, these games are very comedic and a masterpiece i am completely unbiased
  • The whole Nightman thing is just a big 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' reference
  • I love how this goofy games can end up being the most emotional at times.
  • Find it funny how he starts talking about “ascending” by checking out the DSAF games with the player model of Jack, who canonically is unable to go to heaven. How ironic!
  • I would've gone a bit more into the story. Like how Jack gave Blackjack to dave because Dave WOULD NOT leave. He had abandonment issues, which is why he stuck with Henry for so many years. When Dave was given Blackjack, Jack told him it was because Jack the Soulless corpse could not move on, and that Blackjack would never leave his side. I think that's a very important point that shoulda been brought up. Alongside Jack being a soulless corpse, who had the end does not move on with the others, meaning he ceases to exist. While the others get a "happy ending", Jack gets a "tragic ending". The only thing that lives on, is the memories of the others have about him.

Have you considered checking out Henry’s tapes in DSaF 3? It really gives a lot of insight on Henry and Dave’s motivations, along with the evil ending.
  • Nobody mentioned it so I will, the "rat" is a character from "tomorrow's pioneers". Just be careful when looking it up, it has some... Interesting views on Jewish people.
  • @heyimgalaxy
Honestly, it was kind of scary to see the transition from "haha funny" to "oh god oh f^^k" between DSAF 2 and 3
  • Dayshift At Freddy's was not really a fan game I expected to be the most memorable one, I remember back in 2016/2017 watching all the vids about it and having a laugh at the jokes. I've recently played it on August 2022 and I do not regret it. I still haven't gotten all endings for DSaF 1 and 2, and I have yet to start DSaF 3. Great video Nitro!
  • I unironically cry every time I watch the ending of Dayshift 3. What started as a joke became a fairly well-woven reimagining of the convoluted story we all fell in love with. It’s got that nostalgic feel that the first few fnaf games have. And DSaF 3 being loosely based on Pizza Sim, my favorite game in the series, helps too. I proudly stand among the cult following for this series, haha.
  • Honestly the best ending from DSAF 1 (imo) was where you get Phone Guy to get Dave arrested rather than you. Basically you have to get really hecking lucky and run into either Ze Health Inspector or The Bullies after you murder the kiddins. Then, you need to speak to Phoney (since he'll give you a favor for helping him out) and use the favor to basically say "I killed those kids, but I need you to make Dave take the fall." Phone Guy hates you for it, but he's a man of his word and Dave gets arrested. This ending is the hardest to me due to the fact that most runs that I played didn't have those encounters at all. I've only fought Ze Health Inspector twice and saved the Crying Child once in around 20 playthroughs (I kept dying lol).

to this day i will still say "hello, old sport" unapologetically
  • You need to play dsaf 3 and get the other endings. Godred is creepy as fuck and cool at the same time. The evil ending is awesome and the business ending too. I think there’s a ballpit ending with music man I might be wrong. There’s other stuff too.
