Before CGI, there was only Stop Motion. From O'Brien to Harryhausen, to the lesser-known, this video is a celebration of stop motion as a special effect. While CGI might have taken over the film industry, stop motion is far from dead.
Editor's note: For the song titles by Toshihiko Sahashi, you will notice that there is a black background behind them, that is because I miss spelled his name and could not correct it because the file was corrupted. I had to edit over it. Sorry.
Thanks to Triops Studios for help with research for this video, we've been working on this since 10/2019.
355 films, tv shows, short films, commercials, and unmade projects were included in this video. I was going to list here, but the word count wasn't enough to list everything.

Bro, stop motion animation in movies is really underrated, I really love it and prefer it over modern CGI. Aspecially stop motion animation by our king, Ray Harryhausen

Really well researched! Very impressive! I was especially surprised to see some of my own stuff included among such brilliant notables. (Muttaburrasaurus: Life in Gondwana, The Late Night Double Feature, Danny Johnson Saves the World, Demon with the Atomic Brain, Dark Earth.) The memorial at the end was a very respectful inclusion. Again, great job!!

The fact that he is going over every thing with stop motion is amazing

I wish you'd put the years of release, and also extend the clips a little more because some if them last less than a second

Thanks for showing the work of Ron Cole, ans Neville Buchanan. Those two need to be acknowledged for their efforts, and creativity. I myself am trying to get my work out there, most of us labor with intense creativity and ingenuity, but maybe we just miss our audience, or the current trends are just to big to overshadow 😅😅
