If you're at least 40 years old, there is no way that you can hear this song and not think of National Lampoon's Vacation and Clark Griswold :-)
-
"Sorry folks, park's closed. Moose out front should've told ya."
-
Someone listening to this masterpiece in 2024?

A road trip just isn't a road trip without this iconic song.

In 2017, I packed my wife and two kids, 5 and 3, into a minivan and drove from Halifax, Canada to Miami, Florida and back again in two and a half weeks. We drove, lived and slept in the minivan. On the last day - the home stretch - this song came on the radio. It was unreal. What are the chances? In fact, I've never heard it on the radio before or since. It was my Clarke Griswold moment.
-
Walley World Security Guard- “Has your father ever killed anyone before”? Russ Griswold- “ Oh just a dog and my Aunt Edna”.
-
The song is so closely associated with the movie that what might get overlooked is that it’s a really good and interesting pop tune, showcasing Buckingham’s unique 80s “Post New Wave meets The Beach Boys” style. He really had his own sound, which also sometimes got diluted by the collaborative nature of Fleetwood Mac.

I’m glad that a man that always took himself so serious as an artist did this song
-
“It’s not a vacation, it’s a quest... a quest for FUN”
-
It's impossible to be in a bad mood listening to this.
-
I bet 90% or people who know this song from the movie don’t know how amazing Lindsey is as a musician. The guitar parts are unique to fingerpicking. Anyone that covers a Buckingham song and doesn’t fingerpick is not doing this man justice!

Christie Brinkley skinny dipping in the hotel pool- "Well, are you gonna go for it?"
-
The theme song to the best series of movies ever made. National lampoons vacations
-
I bet he would never have inagined people still rocking out to his banger in 2024.. How good is music...🤘
-
Wow. After all these years, I never knew Lindsey Buckingham sang this song, and it took an episode of Family Guy to tell me.
-
never knew it was fleetwood mac guy that did this, crazy.
-
This song sure gets a lot of mileage out of 5 lines, a lead guitar and a dog.
-
Needs more dog bark.

I have a friend - a YouTuber - who used this song in some of his intros. He passed very unexpectedly back in December. I miss him. Just wanted to hear the song to remind me of him. Rest in peace, Doug.

This song is the epitome of 80's cheese and there's no way I can sing it without becoming ridiculously happy. This song always puts me into a great head space.
