NALF and his family are excellent American ambassadors to the world. As a group, they show both presumed stereotypical and non-stereotypical aspects of American life.

  • Loved the video! I'm from the Netherlands and live near the German border and only went once to the US, and that was to Oregon. Loved every second of it. Went to Portland, Bend, Smith Rock, Painted Hills, Mount Hood, Crater Lake, Yachats and Astoria. Definitely one of the most diverse and underrated states of the US!

Damn, those landscapes are stunning. I'm from germany and this video makes me wanna go there one day to see it for myself Also the way you shot those sceneries looks awesome 👌

Mountains, the Pacific Ocean and overall beautiful nature. Oregon is definitely not what I expected
  • Hey Nick, Laura is great and you guys are a great couple. Hey, I flew to the States last week and was happily surprised to find „Unicorn Town“ in the movie selection on the flight. Really enjoyed it. Good job 😊!

In 2015, when was in German high school, I’ve been in Salem, Oregon for a three week long student exchange. It was a great time with nice people.

In 1991 my husband and I drove all the way from San Francisco to Seaside along the coastal highway before we turned east towards Forest Grove where a friend and her husband went to university. This road trip was so unbelievably awesome - from the rainforest north of the California border to the wild rock formations along the coast. We spent a whole day in Seaside with our friend, getting saltwater taffies, and watching kites. On another day we visited a vineyard to discover that Oregonian wine is just as delicious as Palatinian wine. If I'd ever wanted to live somewhere in the US it wouldn't be Hawaii. California, or Florida. No, I'd choose Oregon, it's lovely.

additionally to the geographical diversity, I found the sheer vastness to be fascinating when visiting the US

As Germans, we fly to the USA Southwest since 1996. Have been there for more than 20 times (only Corona did not let us fly). We have been in Oregon as well, we have been in Bend and - finally - we have also been at Smith Rock Statepark (not "Nationalpark", as your Girlfriend says). We have been there in late summer and there were many many people climbing(!) in the walls. Its a really beautifull park, not very well known. We never made it in Winter to Oregon, but we also had plenty of snow in Mai and June(!), especially in the (Californien) "Lassen Volcano Park". Cant wait to come back again....
  • @mascami
Oregon is on my list for so long, I hope it will happen soon! Wow, love your video! Greetings from Baden-Württemberg🙋‍♀
  • You are selling Oregon almost as good as Baden Wurttemberg. Awesome scenery! Next time, get a Jeep with winter tyres.
  • @gwillis01
Yes it's true that the U S has extreme variety in terms of geological features. There is frozen tundra, tropical forests, grasslands, flowery meadows, thick woods and more.
  • Almost 25 years ago I went to the US for a 4 weeks trip across the country, from LA to New York. It was a great experience, you are right. The land is sooo big and the landscapes sooo divers. From sunset strip, to universal studios, to Monterey, San Francisco, white water rafting, Yosemite NP, Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, Rodeo in Cody, horse riding in Badlands NP, crossed the great planes, Mt Rushmore and Crazy horse Monument, a weekend in Chicago with jazz club and a baseball game, to Niagara falls and finally to NY city where I spend 5 days in museums and at broadway shows…. I had a blast

Vacation for my mind! Thanks for that!!! As a German I always loved to drive trough those empty landscapes in the US without other people anywhere. Straight line streets awesome landscapes. Beautiful National Parks everywhere. Just beautiful and with no worries in the world!
