CityNews article:
It was a terrible tragedy that left a young boy an orphan and likely to be forever haunted by the actions of his own father.
An autopsy has revealed the causes of death of three people involved in a ghastly double murder-suicide last Saturday night in the Don Mills and Lawrence area. Crews arrived to find an apartment unit in flames at 50 Green Belt Drive, and a search for survivors the next day turned up a grim toll – three bodies were still inside the burned out residence.
Two of them died especially gruesome deaths but it had nothing to do with the fire. One of the victims, 46-year-old Ildiko Szava – the young boy’s mother – succumbed to what police call a ‘penetrating stab wound’ to the heart.
Karolyne Gallasz, the child’s 70-year-old grandmother, was the victim of strangulation.
The man police suspect put all this carnage in motion, 41-year-old Majid Ahmad, is the only one who died as a direct result of the fire he’s believed to have set. The autopsy showed his end came due to smoke inhalation.
It may never be known what set off this tragic chain of events that has torn a family apart forever. Court documents show Ahmad was convicted of assaulting and threatening to kill Szava back in 2005. But relatives say the couple had reconciled and were getting along much better.
No one in the family ever suspected what was coming.
The lone survivor in this deadly domestic is the most innocent. A three-year-old child was left in front of the building superintendent’s door with a note from the father, apparently confessing to his actions and promising a taped explanation in his car. But when police listened to the cassette, there was nothing on it.
The disturbed father left his son with one last gift before he died – a bottle of milk so the child would not go hungry. He’s going to be cared for by relatives, who have already agreed to take him in.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at [email protected] and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

I will never understand why people have to destroy an abandoned place instead of just enjoying it.

It's extremely devastating. Imagine the confusion and trauma the little boy experienced. The building didn't look fancy, but it looks like it provided the bare necessities. Hopefully, they will be able to tear down those buildings soon and rebuild more much needed housing. Thanks for taking us there, Brent
-
Poor kid! Hope he’s doing ok in life and there’s no memory of what happened. 😢
-
I don't think I've seen such vandalism and total disregard for property. Very sad story ...well, done another excellent video. Hopefully, the complex will be rebuilt...
-
This is hands down the worst and saddest of your posts, Brent. I don’t remember hearing anything about this case. So glad the boy was spared…

Such a tragic story. I’m glad they are going to demolish it. The fall colors are so beautiful against the decay, though! I wish we had fall here in Hawaii. It’s just amazing to see how the colors change. Another great story, Brent!

It's a crying shame. It looks like each one had its own garage as well. It would have been a nice, economical place to live for many people.😶🌫️
-
That's a sad one . Thank God the child was spared .
-
places like this should be getting fixed up since we are in a housing shortage crisis.

Probably nice when built with a beautiful view. Shout out to Alexa! Can't believe it is still standing. Very tragic past, so heartbreaking. Glad you went in broad daylight, kinda spooky in there. Good tip about exit planning. Awesome explore, Thank you Brent for sharing this one!!❤

i bet that this complex was beautiful when it was built. I agree with comments here that the vandalism here was unnecessary. I hope the son was able to get help with this trauma he suffered because of this. I would be nice to have housing for the people who need it. Thank you, Brent, for bringing us along to this area and telling us the story.

Why do idiots have to vandalize places! 😢 I can’t believe how small the units on the bottom were, it didn’t even look like they had bedrooms 🤷♀️ Great video! Waiting for the next one! 😊
