The second part of my medieval stop-motion project.
In this one, the focus is far more on action. Towards the end it gets pretty huge, in some shots there are about 150 animated Playmobiles...
Fans of battle movies like LOTR or King Arthur will again recognise many scenes and quotes ;) Shot in 2005.
Originally it was planned as an half hour movie in four parts, but for several reasons I was just able to finish the first two parts with a total running time of 17mins.
The version presented here is a re-release of the original movie, which had been taken down by YouTube due to copyright claims. 2011's "The Kingdom" comes with a completely new score and more advanced soundeffects. Also, there are 20 extra seconds of battle footage at the very end of part 2, which I didn't use back then.

@commando414 Calm down. Do you know how my back hurt after every day of shooting? And I've got a job now and other stuff to do, so there's just no time for it. No need to get mad. I never intended it to remain unfinished, either. Would you prefer if I wouldn't have uploaded any of it? ;)

Hello fellow YouTubers! First I wanted to thank you all for making this the most viewed video on my channel (haven't been looking at the statistics for quite a while) :) And for everyone who was or is wondering what I might be up to right now, here are some exiting news (No, unfortunately it's not The Kingdom Part III. I'm sorry, but it's just impossible for me to do) - This is first teaser for a project I am part of as editor, for general counseling and stuff: >> /watch?v=uCrCWBDdvPc << (to be added to the youtube adress). This is going to be quite a long film, maybe up to 60 minutes, and it's got all the glorious puppet gore you might ask for and also a lot of stop motion bits.

Back to this awesome "playmovie"! I'm afraid we'll never get to see the sequel, nor that false trailer that you had somewhat planned to do... :-/ But anyway, "The Kingdom" is DEFINITELY the BEST playmobil stop-motion animation that I've seen so far... Your vids are a part of my childhood's memories that I will never forget. ;) I swear I'll try to make my medieval fantasy serie as good as your "Kingdom" vids, and I think I will include the bearded swan knight in my own story (Is he Akron, or Is Akron the blond one? I've never known lol...)

@James Durrell - Youtube doesn't let me reply to you directly, so my answer here: For the blood I used Window Color. I put some on a plastic plate and once it dried, it was easy to scope it off and stick it onto die playmobil guys.

@gormitiguy1 Thanks :) I actually did answer that, but maybe it was to shortly before YouTube took the film down :( This little fella came in a blue egg, as some easter special, but I've heard, that he's pretty rare now.

i give you 5/5 for the quality and quotes, but the evil army doesn't have enough warriors in it so at some points, Some knights from the good army can be seen in the bad army ,as well as farmers and women. but really great anyways!

Maybe a little delayed but that doesn't give me the right to complain! I really enjoyed it, after many years i was able to see it again. But i remember 1 question that i asked and you never answered: where'd you get the blue knight with gold decoration? >.<

@AciesFilms Danke. Deine Movies sind aber auch nicht von schlechten Eltern :) Hätt es gern zu Ende gedreht, vor allem weil 3 + 4 vor allem während der Belagerung gespielt hätten, Ausfälle, Reiterangriff usw. Aber unmöglich, das jetzt noch durchzuziehen :/
