I subscribed as soon as you dropped the coordinates. Too few Rockhounds like to share the wealth. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Hey man thanks for the coordinates! Just got back from the spot got one softball size about 5 the size of large chicken eggs. You made getting there easy. Much appreciated.

Thanks for sharing. What is the hike like to the spot? Wondering if my 4 year old could make it. She does make the hike to the lower Hansen Creek spot, for comparison.

Do you pack out all your finds to open later? We haven’t done too much geodes but I get too excited when looking for concretions and crack them all open right away. I did get lucky two weeks ago and found a bunch of mussel fossils when we trudged up lyre river.

Was up there just today. First time so got a good bucket worth of material. I have heard there are two or three thunderegg beds there. Any luck finding the others?
  • You should cut them into perfect cubes. And shaker table them smooth.

I have a couple of those. I just figured there was something in them but didn't know the name. What do you do with them?
  • @donkeyrokman
Any followup on that double? I'd love to see if that was the big prize of the day. ;)
  • @MiseryCo
I'm hoping to get out that way this weekend. How were the roads??
  • I cant get the location to pop up on maps once you turn on to FS-1901 how far do you drive before you get to the trail?

I have the same saw as you, if you start a cut into the bigger pieces then finish it off by rolling it by hand you can cut larger rocks
