The old mixture was so blue, Cody looked back at his notes, made a small correction and the solution became clear to him
  • For those wondering yes Cody searched for Buddy a while and finally grieved him , and theorized he might have been taken by a bird of prey . This is a new fella , he is nice and I hope he won’t desapear like Buddy
  • Came for the cat, stayed for the science. Love your videos Cody. Never stop!
  • As in science itself, 'Mistakes' are a vital component of this channel. Its what makes this channel great.

Hey, currently building an algae bioreactor right now! Includes stirring, arbitrary gas/liquid inputs, peristaltic pumps, heat/temperature monitoring, turbidity sensor (to monitor growth rate) and more. Will post a demo of it when I finish.

Cody, You're such a great educator! You acknowledge when you make a mistake and find a "solution" that corrects the mistakes. I also loved how you used the legos as an example, and the addition of cute kitty reactions is always a nice touch. Glad to see you uploading more frequently again!

Have you considered frequently transferring small amounts of the algae to a new container with fresh media? In theory this would select for fast growth which could be beneficial since it sounds like the plan is to just use the biomass.

To eliminate the crystallization, you could make a concentrated cation solution and anion solution separately. That's how we do scale inhibitor testing at work.

I could watch Cody make algae for hours and hours. Cute cat too!

In the previous video you mentioned that you buy things in "small yet still too much containers", I believe for the coppersulphate, you can use it to do some etching in metal? Could be a fun project too if you haven't done too much of that? Anyway thanks for the video, good fun as always & nice to see a cool new cat!
  • Still feel horrible for you when I think of Buddy, but that little guy was so lucky to have the life he had with ya. The new baby is adorable though, hope we see more!
  • I'm picking up an orange kitten on tuesday. Your kitty just makes me more excited for it
  • And just like that, my day was made 1000x better. Thank you for your video Cody.
