Suzanne Pleshette didn't attend the wrap party, because she knew this wasn't her moment, it was the moment for the regular actors on the show, and she didn't want to take away anything from them. That's how classy she was. Big hug Suzanne, and thanks for the memories....

I remember watching this when it aired. My husband and I were laughing so hard when we saw Suzanne Pleshette. We both watched the Bob Newhart Show back in the day. This is the way to end a series.

RIP Bob. You were the heart of two of television's greatest sitcoms.

I like to think Bob Newhart will never die - he'll just keep waking up somewhere saying "I just had the craziest dream..."
  • As soon as I heard of his passing the first thing I thought of was this. REST IN PEACE Bob

After 60 years of watching TV -- This IS the absolute best ending to any TV show made. I cried because of its perfect brilliance.

Come on Bob! Your loyal fans; and those other people, know there's only one way to end this. Thanks for the all laughs over these many decades. You never truly retire you only move on to your next gig. Rest in Peace. (1929-2024) 😎👏❤

One season being a dream is a cop out, but having the entire series be one long dream.. that is classic television!

Probably one of the most brilliant endings to a TV series ever.

Bob's timing during that final line is just priceless. "Go to sleep, Emily. You know you, uh......... you really should wear more sweaters." Rodney Dangerfield couldn't have timed that better.

Take a note all shows, this is how to end a series. Both Bob Newhart Shows were the most creative, truly funny and family oriented with excellent writers and actors series in television history. Never missed a show. Bob has never been fully appreciated for his comedic excellence, perfect timing and creativity. One of the truly great standup and tv greats.

Never before in the history of television (and probably never again) has there ever been such a wonderfully surprising and brilliantly perfect end scene to a series. Only Bob Newhart and Suzanne Pleshette could have carried off such a feat. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

"You know, you, uh... you really should wear more sweaters." That, ladies and gentlemen, is how to tell a classy breast joke.

Best series ending in the history of television!!! I regularly watched the old show in the 70s, and as soon as Bob woke up and turned on the light (revealing the old show's bedroom) the entire 80s "Newhart" series suddenly made perfect sense. Only a dream could explain why the whole town was always off its collective rocker. The way this series ended was pure genius.
